possible platinum regression dvdshrink
I've successfully run dvdshrink 3.2.0.15 on cross-over linux 6.2 for some time but it won't install for me on wine rc3 (using win version=xp) , but I also get the same error on 0.9.56 which is listed in the wine appDB as working platinum.
I also tried 0.9.59 with same result - access violation right at the beginning of the install
anyone got this working on rc3 ? if yes did you do

hi,
i've just istalled wine in my ubuntu dapper system. In some guide like
the one to install dvdshrink is said to copy something in the directory

Building R package: “Found 'rand', possibly from 'rand' (C)” NOTE when checking package
I am building a package that makes a simple visualization. A part of
the code is in C++, and utilizes the functions srand() and rand() for
purposes not related to statistics (introducing random noise in the
visualization). The package compiles without problems on my
workstation(s), but when I submitted it to the winbuilder service, I
got the following weird message:

C&C3 won't start
Hello!
I'm trying to run C&C3 Tiberium Wars on my Fedora11 x86_64 using Wine 1.1.23
In the AppDB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7440), it's listed as Silver so I though I would give this game a try. Specially as the note says it works with unpatched Wine 1.1.23.
I successfully installed the game and also patched (the game) to 1.9
But once I try to

Blocking problem with embeded R (windows)
Hi all,
I am trying to make calls to R from an MFC application running on XP
and am having problems blocking the application while the call
executes.
I have tried the following approaches to using R from the application
(note that I set a wait cursor while R is executing).
1) call rcmd in BATCH mode using system(). This works well, except
that I get the cmd window popping up... which makes the

Re: Call for volunteers
Austin - another quick question:
I've tested a few bugs using the latest compiled fresh from git (wine-1.1.23-273-gc293285) but then began wondering if I should be using the latest beta instead - 1.1.23?
I'm also confused if I'm doing something wrong because I tried to install directx 9.0c to test dxdiag and after extracting I ran wine dxsetup.exe. That failed with these errors and

Wine and Maple 6
Hello list
I have installed Maple 6 with no problems. It even put a shortcut on
my Kubuntu Dapper Desktop but when I run Maple, I could see the splash
screen then everything disappears. I don't know if this means that
Maple 6 crashes. Any idea of troubleshooting?

zip.unpack() crashes R (PR#2818)
Full_Name: Henrik Bengtsson
Version: R v1.7.0
OS: WinXP Pro
Submission from: (NULL) (130.235.2.229)
There seems to be an upper limit of the number of files (approx 1000 files) a
zip-file can contain when unpacking it with zip.unpack(). This results in an R
crash. This bug is urgent since install.packages() relies on zip.unpack() and
too big packages/bundles won't install with the current R

R v2.1.1 for Windows and "non-reproducible" crashes
Hi,
R v2.1.1 patched (2005-05-26) for Windows crashes. The sympotoms are
like "memory leakage". The patched version from two days ago crashes at
a different position in R CMD check compared to todays version.
A "REPRODUCIBLE" EXAMPLE:
Unfortunately, I cannot create a minimal code example reproducing the
crash, but here is at least a simple way to reproduce it:
1. Make
