Pegasus - No Internet Options
I've just updated my Ubuntu system with the latest Wine from wine.org hoping it would resolve an ongoing problem with the Windows Pegasus email program. Pegasus loads fine, address books and identities all there but the Internet Options is greyed out. I've tried enabling and disabling the winsock32.dll option, I've tried suggestions of deleting pmail.cfg and winpm-32.manifest.

Pegasus and Users
My first attempt at using Wine within Ubuntu to run my favourite email program - Pegasus - resulted in a problem. Pegasus is preinstalled on windows98, I gave the correct filepath and everything appeared to be loading well until it asked for a 'user'. Gave my normal Pegasus username and got the error message that the user does not exist. Tried various permutations of upper and lower

High cpu load
Server is PII-350MHz/256 MB RAM, hardware mirrored high speed SCSI disks. Installed is SuSE 8.2 with Samba 2.2.8a RPM, XFS filesystems and LPRng as printservices. Server acts as PDC and WINS server. Clients are W2K SP2 (a few with SP3). There are +/- 100 clients. We see a server that is 100% busy and we see during a long time a very high CPU load (60- 95%) related to one W2K client. When

Running Pegasus Mail v4.21c under Linux via WINE v20050830 issues
I'm running SuSe linux professional v9.3 with wine v20050830. I have created a link to a windows (smb) shared folder containing my shared Pegasus mailbox in ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: folder. The share is created on boot. I installed Pegasus v4.21c using wine /path/to/w32-421c.exe Pegasus is run from a kde shortcut that executes wine winpm-32.exe -Z 128 All functions work but there are two

Pegasus Mail - runs slow - tuning wine?
PMail 4.6 does function okay, but slowly. it's most apparent when looking at a "lazy html" auto sent message. the icon buttons all seem to re-set themselves in sequence, not dissimilar to my old pc with the winxp desktop items gradually appearing, due to lack of mem. The pc is 64bit AMD C-50 3Gb ddr3 PM flies along in win7, but not in ubuntu 64bit 11.04, wine 1.2.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1

Cannot exec program from network drive after 10 minutes
Hi list, following (very strange) problem: An ordinary windows user has mapped a drive F: on \\LUN1\Programme (running samba-3.0.20b-3 debian). The program "F:\Network\PMail V3\Pegasus Mail\winpm-32.exe" is being started, this works. But after about 10 minutes, the same program start fails with "invalid path or filename". When accessing the F: drive via Windows-Explorer,

Hello together! I would like pegasus mail as default mail client for konqueror. After clicking on a mailto link there should be pegasus mail started in this way: "wine winpm-32.exe -T <to address> -S <subject>" My question was, how can i set up the Konqueror in such way? Has anyone tried something like this? Bye, Timo

Pegasus Mail sometimes says no HD-memory free, but that's not true
Hello together, I use the localized Pegasus Mail version 4.21c. Sometimes, only during receiving mails, I'll get an error message (dialog) that on the drive is currently only very few memory available. But that's not true, on the drive are many GB free. I have it also tested with another windows application (Total Commander), it also shows me the correct amount of free space. The

Problems with VFS Recycle on SLES9
Hi list, I have running samba 3.0.9 on a SuSE Enterprise-Server 9 with Kernel 2.6.5. Samba works very well but In have one problem while using the recycle vfs with samba: when I save a file (with wordpad or editor ...) to the network-share, a 0 byte-file will automaticly be saved to the trash-folder. After removing the file from the network-share, the real file (>0 byte) will be stored to

Tuning for Pegasus Mail
I have a big performance Problem when using Pegasus Mail storing it's Mail on on an samba Share. I assume PMail does write small blocks of data when saving files. The same performance degeneration is seen when copying files with "type file >copy" instead of using the copy Command. Client OS is Windows-Vista, Server is Samba Samba 3.3.4 Any Hints to optimize samba here? Elmar

Re: Bug#181699: #181699 Re: #181699 wine: vague error message: "dramatically effect" in what way?
What really matters is not whether Wine has a Windows drive and filesystem to sit on top of, but whether or not Wine can use native Windows DLLs instead of its builtin ones. Some DLLs in Wine are so perfect that they can be used in Windows - no benefit will be gained from running an app that uses these natively. Some of Wine's DLLs are buggy or incomplete - using stock native Windows ones

R CMD build with mingw and msys (PR#9766)
Full_Name: Steffen Version: 2-5-0 OS: Windows Submission from: (NULL) (192.124.243.162) Hi, the R CMD build script is using if($WINDOWS) { ## workaround for paths in Cygwin tar $filepath =~ s+^([A-Za-z]):+/cygdrive/\1+; } which does not work if the build environment is a MINGW. I have added the patch below, Yours, Steffen $ diff -u build build.orig --- build

Help request: Parsing docx files for key words and appending to a spreadsheet
Hi Eric Thanks for that. That seems to fix one problem (the lack of a separator), but introduces a new one when I complete the function Calum proposed:Error in docx_summary() : argument "x" is missing, with no default The whole code so far looks like this: # Load libraries library(tcltk) library(tidyverse) library(officer) filepath <- setwd(tk_choose.dir()) filename <-

dyn.load() error: bad external relocation length
R-helpers, Is there an easy way to call an external (C) program using .C or .Call without including the code in a package. I know how to do it using system(), but that doesn't seem to be a permanent or portable solution. Initially I tried: .Call('filepath.to.c.function', arg1) and got this error: Error in .Call("filepath.to.c.function", "arg1", :

Using variables from different environments in one function
Dear R-community, I have been experiencing this issue with functions within a function and I can kind of feel where the problem is (environments, closures etc), but I don't manage to solve it. I will sketch it with an example: #We have two simple "inner" functions: ############## INNER FUNCTION1 ################# innerfunction1<-function() { ab<-a+b

Something is wrong with the unserialize function
Hi all, I am not able to export an ALTREP object when `gctorture` is on in the worker. The package simplemmap can be used to reproduce the problem. See the example below ``` ## Create a temporary file filePath <- tempfile() con <- file(filePath, "wrb") writeBin(rep(0.0,10),con) close(con) library(simplemmap) library(parallel) cl <- makeCluster(1) x <- mmap(filePath,
