Pegasus and Users
My first attempt at using Wine within Ubuntu to run my favourite email program - Pegasus - resulted in a problem. Pegasus is preinstalled on windows98, I gave the correct filepath and everything appeared to be loading well until it asked for a 'user'. Gave my normal Pegasus username and got the error message that the user does not exist. Tried various permutations of upper and lower

Wine - Launching Programs
I've had various Windows programs working successfully via wine but am getting a wee bit confused running my email program. I have my original windows installation accessible from Linux, I also have a copy under /home/.wine and also on a USB stick. In order to use my most up to date version I have altered the filepath (eg wine /media/windows/system/pmail/winpm-32.exe -Z 12 but for some

Pegasus Mail sometimes says no HD-memory free, but that's not true
Hello together, I use the localized Pegasus Mail version 4.21c. Sometimes, only during receiving mails, I'll get an error message (dialog) that on the drive is currently only very few memory available. But that's not true, on the drive are many GB free. I have it also tested with another windows application (Total Commander), it also shows me the correct amount of free space. The

Running Pegasus Mail v4.21c under Linux via WINE v20050830 issues
I'm running SuSe linux professional v9.3 with wine v20050830. I have created a link to a windows (smb) shared folder containing my shared Pegasus mailbox in ~/.wine/dosdevices/c: folder. The share is created on boot. I installed Pegasus v4.21c using wine /path/to/w32-421c.exe Pegasus is run from a kde shortcut that executes wine winpm-32.exe -Z 128 All functions work but there are two

Tuning for Pegasus Mail
I have a big performance Problem when using Pegasus Mail storing it's Mail on on an samba Share. I assume PMail does write small blocks of data when saving files. The same performance degeneration is seen when copying files with "type file >copy" instead of using the copy Command. Client OS is Windows-Vista, Server is Samba Samba 3.3.4 Any Hints to optimize samba here? Elmar

Pegasus Mail - runs slow - tuning wine?
PMail 4.6 does function okay, but slowly. it's most apparent when looking at a "lazy html" auto sent message. the icon buttons all seem to re-set themselves in sequence, not dissimilar to my old pc with the winxp desktop items gradually appearing, due to lack of mem. The pc is 64bit AMD C-50 3Gb ddr3 PM flies along in win7, but not in ubuntu 64bit 11.04, wine 1.2.3-0ubuntu1~ppa1

Wine 0.9.2, SuSE 10, Pegasus Mail 4.21C
I recently upgraded my SuSE 9.0 system to SuSE 10. I have noticed several bug fixes in Wine but I have a new problem with Pegasus Mail, the only Windows program I am addicted to because it is so powerful. The Pegasus Mail window can't be closed normally. I can't solve the problem but maybe my own experiments can help isolate it. Pegasus Mail 4.21C has worked fine under SuSE 9.0

Pegasus Mail 4.41 OK With Dovecot
Pegasus Mail 4.41 is an excellent client on Windows. It works fine with both Dovecot IMAP and POP3 (APOP, IMAP LOGIN commands only - no SASL). Responds to async events. Supports IMAP STARTTLS. Does not use IDLE - periodic CHECKs. Fast and sensible header caches, light on resources. Offline mode, but read-only, using cache (prefetch options available if body caching enabled, it's not

Pegasus Mail and recent versions of Wine
Has anyone succeeded in running Pegasus Mail with a version of Wine newer than 0.9.8? With Wine 0.9.9 I experienced a termination of Pegasus Mail every time I closed a message composition window. This was not "fixed" in Wine 0.9.10. With Wine 0.9.11 and Wine 0.9.12 Pegasus Mail appears to be unable to display anything other than its startup window with the flying horse and the

Cannot exec program from network drive after 10 minutes
Hi list, following (very strange) problem: An ordinary windows user has mapped a drive F: on \\LUN1\Programme (running samba-3.0.20b-3 debian). The program "F:\Network\PMail V3\Pegasus Mail\winpm-32.exe" is being started, this works. But after about 10 minutes, the same program start fails with "invalid path or filename". When accessing the F: drive via Windows-Explorer,

Issue with Pegasus Mail Help Functionality
I am using Wine v0.9.3 to run Pegasus Mail v4.31. I am happy to report that I am able to shut PM down without "crashing" it as I had to do with the Alpha versions of the past year or more. OTOH, I am still unable to display the contents of the Pegasus Mail help file. When I press F1 (or use Help on the Pegasus Mail menu) I get a window with a menu (File, Edit, Bookmark, and Help)

Integration of Windows mail client in Konqueror
Hello together! I would like pegasus mail as default mail client for konqueror. After clicking on a mailto link there should be pegasus mail started in this way: "wine winpm-32.exe -T <to address> -S <subject>" My question was, how can i set up the Konqueror in such way? Has anyone tried something like this? Bye, Timo

rc2x seems to break Pegasus Mail
Hi guys, I upgraded from rc7 to rc24 a couple weeks ago, and noticed today that Pegasus Mail's IMAP no longer connects. So I put rc27 in, and it worked, but only for a little while... I'm not sure what the problem might be, the logs look fine, and I can still use Horde and Evolution without a problem. Pegasus Mail's error is unfortunately not helpful. Restarting rc27 didn't

High cpu load
Server is PII-350MHz/256 MB RAM, hardware mirrored high speed SCSI disks. Installed is SuSE 8.2 with Samba 2.2.8a RPM, XFS filesystems and LPRng as printservices. Server acts as PDC and WINS server. Clients are W2K SP2 (a few with SP3). There are +/- 100 clients. We see a server that is 100% busy and we see during a long time a very high CPU load (60- 95%) related to one W2K client. When

Pegasus - Crashes on Sending
I'm running Pegasus 4.31 via the latest version of Wine on Ubuntu's Breezy Badger version. I've looked at the Wine applications page for bugs etc and Pegasus crashing on sending mail is documented. It shows as bug 1611 and shows as resolved but I cannot fathom out what the resolution is. My Pegasus appears to run fine except when I press the send button whereupon pegasus

wine releases and Pegasus Mail
On a RedHat 6.2 (with the latest RH updates) I have been using wine (compiled from source with ./configure-make depend-make) to run Pegasus Mail 3.12c for the last 12-15 months. It has had (and still has) its ups and downs. I am using wine with real Windows, not 'fake'. Early on Pegasus Mail (PM) crashed when trying to add attachments, but slowly things improved, until (and

3.0.22 becomes non-responsive
We have a samba 3.0.22 server which acts as file storage for our mail system (Mercury/32 & Pegasus Mail), serving about 600 users, with a typical load of 150 concurrent users. We have been seeing an increase in stability problems such as: 1. shared win32 executable files become "locked" to the point where the win2k client reports the file is corrupt, or access is denied. Clients
