Feature request: External deletion command
Hi everyone, it would be nice if rsync could call an external command to delete files. Than one could call a secure deletion tool like "wipe", which overwrites files a few times before deleting them. Right now Im wiping personal data which I dont need anymore, but it doesnt help much since they can easily be recovered from my backup made with rsync. Bye, Mario -- Der GMX

[LLVMdev] llc: assertion fails in bitreader.cpp
Hi all, I've used the llvmgcc to compile a quite simple bit of c-code: >short addtest(short a, short b) >{ > return a+b; >} When I'm feeding llc (llvm-2.1-version) with the resulting bytecode, it fails with this error: llc: BitcodeReader.cpp:1040: bool llvm::BitcodeReader::ParseModule(const std::string&): Assertion `Func->getFunctionType()->getParamAttrs() ==

Listening only on localhost
Hi! I've got dovecot 1.0.rc15. I want dovecot to listen only on localhost for imap, and on any interfaces for imaps. So I put the following into my config: protocol imap { listen = 127.0.0.1:143 ssl_listen = *:10993 .. } dovecot -n correctly reports: listen: 127.0.0.1:143 ssl_listen: *:10993 But I can still do a 'telnet MY_HOST 143' from the outside, and 'netstat -pltn |

--link-dest vs. special files and owner/group changes
rsync 2.6.9 --link-dest does - not hardlink special files (symlink, device nodes) This doesn't take much space, but it clutters the logfiles - change owner/groupship on the hardlink So if I use a hard-linked-tree-per-day, it changes history also Is this still the same with newer versions? Are there options to modify this behavior? If not, why not? :-) louis -- GMX FreeMail: 1 GB

Use R in a pipeline as a filter
Hi, how can I use R in a pipline like this $ ./generate-data | R --script-file=Script.R | ./further-analyse-data > result.dat Assume a column based output of ./generate-data, e.g. something like: 1 1 1 2 4 8 3 9 27 4 16 64 The R commands that process the data should come from Script.R and should print to stdout (Script.R could for example calculate the square of every entry or calculate

Which editor
Ok, so I''m new to Ruby and wxRuby. I come from a Basic background (RealBasic). Can somebody suggest a decent IDE that is used for wxRuby. Something where I can paste in code examples and then run them immediately. (I''m a Windows Vista user) Any suggestions welcome. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Integrate scruffy graph in rails view?
Hi everybody, I''m using scruffy to create some graphs, and would like to integrate them into a regular view (i.e. show them in an <img> tag). However, I get errors when using img_tag, or the image doesn''t load if I try saving the graph to disk and then loading them in html. Generating the graph and linking to it works, however then I only have the graph open in a new
