Problems building dlls for use with winelib
Hi, I am currently having trouble building the DLLs of an application ported from Win32 to Winelib - compiling, thanks to some hints from Dimi O. Paun, now works fine, only(?) the final linking step fails. Since Winelib-documentation is unfortunately pretty outdated, I tried to orientate myself on the makefiles of the Winelib dlls in the cvs /wine/dlls/ directory. I tried the following

what i should use?wine or winelib
Welcome, We are developing a program for Windows(using MSVC if it matter). It was found some time ago that it would be good to have linux version. But program can't be ported easily becouse our own (non-gui) code cannot be easily ported, also, we use some third-party components which simply is not avaible under linux(we have only binary DLLs).Functionality of those components cannot be easily

How can I link some winelib-dependant code with g++ ? compilation is okay, but at linking time, all wine functions are unresolved. // ### here's the output :### [root@udp015809uds Wine2]# g++ -lwine registry.o registry_wrap.o -o registry.out registry.o(.text+0x2e): In function `CreateKey(char const*)': : undefined

winelib shared memory problem
Hi I have two programs: The first is a windows binary compiled in Visual C++ which acts like a Server. The second program is a Client, which I compile from sources. Both are written in C++. Server and client communicate using two IPC mechanisms: named pipe and shared memory. shared memory consists of a structure, e.g.: Code: struct GameData Using mingw compiler Client compiles well. Then I

windows program compiled using wineg++ looks for wine binary
Hi ! I have compiled a sample Windows VC++ win 32 based HelloWorld application using the winelib. I used wineg++ to compile the application in Linux. When I try to execute the application it looks for wine. When I set the path to the wine /bin directory the application works properly. Is it possible that after compiling using wineg++ the program will run in any platform even if wine is not

Internet Explorer 6 crashes after upgrading to Wine 0.9.4
Hello all, I am running an Ubuntu system here (Debian-based) and today I got an upgarde from Wine-HQ to version 0.9.4 from the Wine-HQ repository. I have Internet Explorer 5, 5.5 and 6 installed from IEs4Linux (http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/en/instructions/) which uses the Internet Explorers from the Browser Archive (http://browsers.evolt.org/download.php?/ie/32bit/6.0/ie60.exe). WineLib and Static Libs
I read the following on wine HQ: Linking in .lib Files .... You cannot use .lib files directly with Winelib. The reason is that winebuild does not support reading .lib files. Support for '.lib' files (or possibly even '.dll' files) could be added in but it is not there currently. Exactly how you deal with that depends on what your situation: 1.if you

little problem with winelib...
hello everybody, i have a slight problem, i want to write a wrapper around win32 binary dll and use it with my *nix applications, and i have been through the winelib documentation, and spent pretty much time trying to make a working wrapper, but i can't seem to get it working (with and without prototyping the calls i seem to get many "undefined reference to '....'"'s)...

Porting with Winelib
Hi, I am looking into good way to port Windows applications to Linux and hopefully any other Unixes. I'd like to know about questions below. If anyone answer them, I'd appreciate it. 1. Can I use Winelib to port commercial application whose sources will be not disclosed ? 2. Is it possible to link Winelib statically with an application and distribute it ? 3. In case that I

Compiling MFC with Winelib - was Need advice porting app
I've changed the message thread to compiling MFC with Winelib because I believe that is the real essence of my issue at hand. If I can figure out how to compile MFC then I will have solved my dillemma of which way to choose in porting my app to Linux. If I can't then I can use the only path available. So, there is a big vacant spot in the WineLib users guide for compiling MFC. I've

problem build wine lib
This is my first post here, please excuse any incorrect terms etc. I have tried to follow chapter 5 of winelib-guild.pdf, but found winemaker does not correspond to the pdf. I am using wine version 1.0-rc1. I am trying to call a Linux shared library from an unmodified windows C++ program using a ?C? interface to a DLL. I have built very simple test case that I would like help to compile. Sorry for

winelib with a dll
Sorry to bug you all, but I want to know if I am trying to do something impossible. I am trying to use winelib to compile an exe that links to a dll, without compiling the dll under winelib (i.e. the equivalent of simply linking in the .lib). I have a win32 DLL project (hw5) that generates a hw5.lib, hw5.dll and hw5.h under M$. I have a win32 gui exe project (hw6) that includes hw5.h, links to

Winelibs question.....
Forgive my newbness. I'm pretty fresh to Linux, but trying to port some reasonably sizable windows apps that I have written. Certainly my gui apps appear to work directly with wine. I also have stuff that makes more sense to use with winelibs. I've had no significant difficulties setting up and compiling bits an pieces, basically just to get my orientation sorted. One of my apps is an

winelib: porting Delphi apps
Just a (probably crazy) thought: What about porting Windoze apps that aren't written in C? I've got a Delphi application that currently runs under Virtual PC under OS 9.2 on an eMac (PPC Processor), which would run much faster without those OS layers in between. I don't really have a clue as to whether this really far-out-whacky or not cuz I am not really a Delphi, or, for that matter,

Porting with winelib - undefined reference to `WinMain'
Hello! I'm trying to port zCPU emulator (http://www.wiremod.com/forum/cpu-tutorials-programs/2956-zcpu-emulator.html) to Linux with winelib. This app is mainly console, but can draw some stuff using SDL. The problem is: compiles fine but when linking I get Code: /usr/lib/wine/libwinecrt0.a(exe_main.o): In function `main': exe_main.c:(.text+0x9d): undefined reference to `WinMain'

winelib problems with .configure
I am attempting to use winemaker on a relatively straightforward Windows App that we have. Just a little background, we started the effort by first evaluating our application in Wine itself and obtained very good results. Now, we're moving on to try and compile a version for Linux by using Winelib and running into this problem. I ran winemaker with this: winemaker --lower-all which finished

I would want to make it run natively on Linux. You can't. Winelib still requires Wine to run it. It's a library not an executable. If you want to write native Linux application that can run by itself
