problem when use tls to connect libvirt
Hi guys,
I met a problem when I use tls to connect libvirt.
When I set the CN in client.info, server.info as hostname(FDQN), the tls
check will fail with ip; and vice versa, when set CN as ip address, the tls
check will fail with hostname. Only use what we set in can succeed. If this
is expected? or I there was some issue in my env. or setup steps?
1. set tls env with hostname, then it will

Picking a non-.local domain
First off, thanks to Rowland Penny for his patience in working through my thread
"Joining a new Samba AD DC".
I first attempted to upgrade my old Samba 4.8.2 AD/DC to a more recent version,
but that effort failed due to too many differences with the Samba version and
the latest Slackware OS version. Next I tried to join a 2nd Samba DC to the
existing domain with the intent of promoting

As another poster has commented, a slow DNS response may not be anything
related to your setup, but caused by upstream DNS service. Slow DNS
response or timeouts is not

Cups freeze when remote server is unavailable
Hi,
I have a setup problem with cups on my CentOS7 laptop.
In client.conf If have set the cups server FDQN used at work
ServerName servprint.lmy.lab.fr
But when I'm at home if I do not comment this line with:
# ServerName servprint.lmy.lab.fr
cups freeze as soon as I try to print something on my local home printer
as the remote server is unreachable.
This seams to be an old 2012 bug

Uniden UIP200, please help
Anyone using the UIP200 with *? I am having
difficulty getting the phone to register and *stay*
registered for more than 4 seconds.
The * console shows the UIP200 registering and records
the user agent. The UIP200 displays station name and
time on its LCD, then 4 seconds pass and it shows #1
DISCONNECTED. The * console reports no problem and
believes the device to still be registered.

Meaning of Battery Resting/PW-MIBs
Hi,
just testing with a HP R1500 XR (answers as Powerware) with SNMP/Serial
Port Card using SNMP I found:
1st: The batt status 1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.2.5.0 goes away after some time.
Isn't visible in a snmpwalk anymore, seems to be a bug in the card.
2nd: The ups turns into "resting" 48h after battery is full. It turns
off the fan, the batt voltage lowers a little, it seems, avoiding

$HOME instead of pw->pw_dir question.
Hello.
I have one, small question.
There are any security reasons to not use a getenv("HOME")
instead of pw->pw_dir in ssh.c and tildexpand.c to find
user home directory?

[PATCH] Allow verification of user's hash in doveadm-pw
Hi,
It may be useful for testing purpose to know if a generated password
hash correspond to a given clear password. This can be useful to check
if a hash generated by another program can be verified by Dovecot
without any errors.
This patch adds the ability the verify a password hash using `doveadm
pw` via the `-V` option.
??? $ doveadm pw -s SSHA.hex
??? Enter new password:

doveadm pw generates different hash each time it is invoked !?
I am absolutely dumbfounded by "doveadm pw". My understanding is that
the command should be used to create a hashed password that should in
turn be placed into /etc/dovecot/passwd
Here comes the "dumbfounded" part. I was creating a new virtual user,
running doveadm pw to generate the hashed password. But when I tried to
login via imap, the password was rejected. So I started
