shutting down a mysql server renders cdr_mysql dead and asterisk nolonger makes or receives calls
At approximately 3:15pm I shut down the office MySQL server to change out some hardware. Shortly after I received a call from one of two customers whose asterisk servers output CDR data to that server. They could not place or receive calls. Shortly after that I received a call from the other customer. I'm below providing output from the message log (At debug level). I don't see much

Helo, we use recent to control ip traffic. kernel 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5 : all is OK kernel 2.6.18-308.16.1.el5 : the first recent statement causes an error. E.g.: iptables -A INPUT -m state --state NEW -m recent --set -p tcp --dport 80 iptables: Unknown error 18446744073709551615 The man pages say: recent is supported. CentOS 6: is OK Knows anyone more? WCTDM-24xxp woes
I am currently running Asterisk 1.2.8, on an AMD Sempron 3100+ (ASUS K8N Nforce based board). I am using a Digium wctdm24xxp to terminate 8 (2x quad) FXO lines. Using ztmonitor (From zapata) I cannot see that there is any registerable incoming volume from these lines. I've been running them at rxgain = 25 (zapata.conf) to make the audio audible, however this creates poor call quality issues

ADS Authentication
I'm about ready to smash my head through a wall...I could use a few answers. 1. When using security = ads, and completing net ads join, it was my understanding that samba authenticated username/pword against ads, and local posix accounts were nolonger needed, is this true? 2. If yes, I have not been able to get it to work. If I have a posix user account with the same name as one in

[PATCH] use reliable nfs mount options per default
Peter, we found that nfs over udp will corrupt data under very extrem load, there is no way to fix it due to the way how UDP works. TCP will not have these problems. I also wonder why the package size is only 1k. Everyone who wishes a slow connection can pass the desired options via the kernel cmdline. Everyone else prefers probably the fast mount. The defaults should look more like that: ---

message-of-the-day feature?
For lack of a better name, we are interested in a feature where one could get a notice out to all Dovecot users as quickly as possible, possibly without going through an MTA even. Given a message and a list of userids we could certainly do a mailing on the MDA server itself going through both Postfix and Dovecot LDA. However, we were wondering what other options we might have in Dovecot. For
