do Sintel make bad image for theora?
Hallo all,
there is sintel online premiere up today http://www.sintel.org/ . But
oggtheora video is every thing but not gut. I downloaded 720p version
but IMHO some times it looks for me like scaled 480p. In my experience
theora can do better, or em i wrong?
strings Sintel.2010.720p.Theora-VODO give me fallowing:
ENCODER=ffmpeg2theora-0.24
Xiph.Org libtheora 1.1 20090822 (Thusnelda)

Fwd: Theora developer question.
Hi Beorn,
1. replace "-v 7" to "--optimize --two-pass --soft-target -V 2000" you
will get about 200MB file size with no changes in quality.
2. try to use libtheora ptalarbvorm, it is in alpha state but has some
improvements. You can find comparison here:
http://people.xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/theora/demo9.html
if you use ubuntu 10.10 you can download precompiled libtheora and

"max_analyze_duration reached" means what?
I am trying to encode the Sintel documentary AVI from DVD #3 using
ffmpeg2theora 0.27 (which is the latest released version).
You can download this AVI file from
http://www.archive.org/download/Sintel/Sintel_Documentary_by_Ali_Boubred.avi
I'm doing this encode on Fedora 13 GNU/Linux on a 64-bit AMD processor.
The program encodes the video but I get something that looks like a
warning and

Shaping incoming traffic on the other interface
Hi,
I have a typical configuration for my firewall/gateway box: single network card, with a pppoe
connection to the DSL modem.
I''m already successfully shaping the uplink (how come that the wondershaper.htb doesn''t use the ceil
parameter? It should implement bandwidth borrowing!) but i found the ingress policy a little bit rough.
I''d like to keep the traffic categories

Asterisk hangup all incoming calls after 10 seconds
Hello Gentleman,
I'm new to asterisk, this is my first instalation, first post... so I'd like
to apologize if this question has already been made. I googled but I
couldn't find nothing similar.
Here's the thing.
I'm migrating from ATA to Asterisk one of my client's office and I have a
very simple setup.
A Linux PC running Debian Lenny + Asterisk 1.4.21. It's a

2BCT last mile... Hopefully
Ok, so I've made progress on 2BCT (2 B-Channel Transfer). I'm assuming that
the debug info below shows that XO doesn't have 2BCT enabled on my line, but
if anybody can confirm that'll let me be way more indignant. J

celebrating revision 50000
Hello,
Today, Brian Ripley commited the revision 50000 of R's svn repository.
I took this as an opportunity to do some data analysis of the log and
posted some code and graphics on my blog:

dbench strange results
Hi
I'm building new samba server (on Debian 6.0, software RAID10 2TB, Xeon
CPU). Generally everything is working fine, so I have decided to run
some stress tests. My choice was dbench. Old server is Debian 4.0 (samba
3.0.24, Athlon 3000+, one ATA 160GB disk). So run
dbench 16
on both old and new server
The results are strange

upstart CentOS vs upstart Ubuntu is there any difference between them?
I'm moving some server configurations from Ubuntu Server 12.04 to CentOS
6.6. Now I'm working on `/etc/init` script that should be handled by
`upstart` at both OS as far as I know. The files on both server are the
same and I mean the same at content level and also at path level and
permissions level, is the exactly copy from Ubuntu to CentOS. I'm having
some issues with upstart at

still problems with password-expiration
Hi folks,
I knew this was recently discussed but I still couldn't get it to work.
I still have the problem that the users on the W2K-Clients get the message
about the password going to expire in 5 days when joining the
Samba-PDC-Domain.
Even if the users change the password, this message keeps coming...
I have no idea what to do to avoid this message...
Funny thing is, the password DOES NOT

Running Scalar Evolution on Modules on an ad-hoc basis
Hello!
I am attempting to write a program which can analyze multiple llvm
modules. Specifically, I want to use scalar evolution on different
modules while being able to refer to the results across all modules thus
processed.
Ideally I don't want to do it as an LTO pass -- I don't know which modules
I need to check at the time the program starts running.
My current attempt at
