Java in Firefox
I installed Java 1.6 update 5 and Firefox. Firefox works "okay", and some elements like Flash objects (videos on youtube and cartoons on AlbinoBlackSheep to name some examples) work a bit faster than they do on the native linux version of Firefox, so I wanted to try Java. My test subject was RuneScape. Well, after installing Java I set "java.exe" and "javaws.exe" to

How can I install Wine on a computer without internet access
Hi, Couldn't find the answer searching the forum. I would like install Wine on a system that has Ubuntu 9.10 but NO access to the Internet. I have another system with Ubuntu 8.04 which can access Internet, but the instructions at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb seem to imply that it would install the Wine on my 8.04 machine. Is there any binary I could download that I could put on a

How to: Run a DOS program using Wine
I have a new EeePC from ASUS with Xandros version of linux installed. I have installed wine, and believe that the installation works for at least some windows programs. Looking in the windows\system32 directory I see notepad and progman, both of which run and look reasonable. What I really want to do is to run a command window, i.e. cmd.exe. Even though it is there, when I attempt to execute

RC1 & RC3 break PageMaker
PageMaker was running OK (except duplex printing wrong) on 0.9 wines. With RC1 & RC3 (didn't try RC2) PageMaker starts to open, cycles my scanner (???), and quits. I went back to 0.9.61-1 all is well again. Any thoughts? I did a reinstall of PM, but it had no effect.

Compiling - WARNING: No OpenGL library found on this system.
I downloaded Wine sources with Git. Now when I cd to wine-git folder and do ./configure, at the end I get a message: Code: "configure: WARNING: No OpenGL library found on this system. OpenGL and Direct3D won't be supported. configure: Finished. Do 'make depend && make' to compile Wine." I installed all packages from this script - http://kegel.com/wine/hardy.sh

Depressed amd64 user...
Hi, I recently built my new graphics workstation with the express idea of using Linux, Wine, and an AutoCAD clone called IntelliCAD. http://intellicadms.com/ Running Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) on my old Intel system with Wine works just fine. IntelliCAD functions beautifully. However, when I installed the above on my all-new AMD Phenom II X4 955 system, IntelliCAD simply does not launch. I use: -

Strange winbindd messages
Hi, We are running samba v3.6.3 on Ubuntu 12.04 server. This is being used with FreeRADIUS for wireless authentication with AD. We just logged a set of messages from winbindd that I don't understand: Jan 23 10:35:28 as3 winbindd[25371]: [2013/01/23 10:35:28.056846, 0] rpc_client/cli_netlogon.c:677(rpccli_netlogon_set_trust_password) Jan 23 10:35:28 as3 winbindd[25371]:

Failed to verify incoming ticket!
Hello, a few people asked about this problem here, but up to now I have not seen a solution. System: fresh installed Debian Woody with backported packages from backports.org, nothing else, only samba3 running. System ist intended as replacement for our old windows-fileserver. Situation: after installation and configuration all worked well, accessing shares works without password-checking.

cd drive not found
By reading messages on this list, I think that I have figured out that in gnome, you should be able to find directories like media/floppy jerry@linux-8ldg:/media> dir total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 48 2006-08-18 20:18 floppy Since the only sub directory I have in the media directory is floppy, does this mean that I have not configured the computer correctly? I cannot get to the cd drive

Re: C:WindowsTempCloseApp.exe
1. Is ahsetup.exe this program? http://cleansofts.org/download/air-hunter.html 2. Is closeapp.exe this program? http://www.traction-software.co.uk/closeapp/ Because it looks to me like you must have installed closeapp.exe (or perhaps some other program that included it) at some point, and now it's doing exactly what it's designed to do, shut down running Windows processes, in this case

Re: C:WindowsTempCloseApp.exe
Okay, I found the right ahsetup.exe (Active Home). It's doing the same thing for me: extracting CloseApp.exe (which is the same program I found) to the temp folder, but then shutting down with an error message about being unable to use it. As to why, the answer, IMO, is that this is a very old program (the download site says it works in Windows 3.1), and most programs that old simply

Treating T1 as trunk in/out, not individual lines
I'm tying a Nortel option 61 to asterisk via T1. I don't want to split each of the t1 channels out into individual lines (tied to a specific extension) - so a trunk in and out. Assuming PRI over T1 signaling, how would I pass the CALLED and CALLER info across the channels so each side knows what to do? Is there something in the PRI protocol you can point me to for figuring this out?
