WINT-NT is working as PDC and Redhat Linux Samba BDC and how to use rsync?
Can anybody give me a hint how to set up Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0) with
rsync-ing WIN-NT PDC so that if WIN-NT PDC is down all the clients can
still get Authentication service from Samba BDC(RedHat 9.0). i have seen
in Samba documentation that it can be done using rsync but nowhwere it
is clearly explained howto do it.. I ran out of gas by looking through
google also... :-(
With Best Regards

Problem with smbpasswd
Hi all,
I've just set up password encryption using 1.9.18p4. I compiled with NO
ALLOW_CHANGE_PASSWORD option because compilation didn't work (I'm using
HP-UX 10.20). Everything seems to be working correctly instead of a
'normal' user trying to change his (samba-) password using smbpasswd
(root can change any password). The messages I receive are as follows:

samba RPMS?
Hi
I have Redhat 9. To download latest samba i went to the following site:-
http://us4.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/RedHat/RPMS/i386/9.0/
i can see only one samba RPM
what about samba-common & samba-client?
Are these 2 built into samba or we have to do build this
As i know earlier we used to have 3 RPMS

panel data and model selection
Good day R-listers,
I'm working with a panel dataset, i've used many models ,
homogeneous (fixed effect, pooled ols and Driscoll and Kraay)
heterogeneous (swamy random coefficients) and would like to do a
post-estimation to select the model that best fit my regression. is
there any method, command that may allow me to do this in R?
Any hint will be highly appreciated
Ama.

Incremental backup with only delta into a separate file.
Hi All,
I am presently doing a small POC with rsync for incremental backup and
restore starategies.
I have come up with certain question down the line, can anyone help me with
the explanation.
Used the config and ideas from:
http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/
The commands executed on two machines in sequence
Machine 1:
root at Andruil:~# vim testfile
root at Andruil:~# ls

coefficients poolability (was: question regarding panel data analysis)
Hello.
Not an easy question at all, and it has little to do with software,
alas!
Veeeeeery loosely speaking: if the homogeneity hypothesis is rejected,
then, depending on data availability, you may still be able to treat the
data like a panel by:
a) ignoring the results of the poolability test
b) allowing the coefficients to vary.
Of course, a) requires some courage while b) requires more

issues in plm using random effect model
Dear Kailas Gokhale,
The negative individual variance is not a problem with your code or plm.
It a property of your data. Please check the posts of Giovanni Millo on
this topic:
[R] R: plm random effect: the estimated variance of the individual
effect is negative

TC show filter command shows all u32 filters defined with different priority iin all priority.
Hi,
I am currently working on the TC.
I have seen some behaviour which seems to be odd.
I know someone in the mailing list would have seen this problem or may
have some fix for this problem.
When I try to include u32 filters with different priority or pref, I
could see the filters being set on all the priority''s irrespective of
the priority number.
See my sample script below and the
