upgrade goof up
Here's the problem, I upgraded all of my 7960 phones to SIP. Now my boss wants to carry his phone with him between offices. The other office has CCM which is set up for Skinny. Now I have to put SCCP back on a 7960 phone and it won't take it. Does anyone have an example of config files for sccp. Are they the same as config files for SIP? I've never had to go back to Skinny once I

Upgrade 7960 from SCCP 3.0 to SIP 7.5
Hi, I can't upgrade an old 7960 from SCCP 3.0 to SIP 7.5. Could you help ? From http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094584.shtml#sccptosip2, I got the following: 1. Copy the desired binary image from Cisco.com to the root directory of the TFTP server. 2. Specify the image in the configuration file image parameter for the protocol

SIP Firmware for Cisco Phones
Just a quick note to people looking for SIP firmware images for Cisco phones: To access these files from Cisco's website, you need to have a Service Contract (SmartNet) on at least on of your phones. I though a contract was several hundred dollars, but it is way cheaper! Their lowest level, 1 year Next Business Day 8x5 SmartNet program, costs around $70.00, and gives you unlimited access to

Cisco 7941G-GE with Asterisk and CTPSEP odyssee
I have just got a Cisco 7941G and am experiencing the exact same problem (phone is requesting .tlv file from TFTP server and never asks for .cnf.xml file). The phone originally had SCCP on it, but I downloaded and flashed with the latest Cisco SIP image (8.4(3) released 2009-01-13). In reading your message below, it looks like you were going to try an incremental upgrade?did you have any

SIP 7960 soft key customization?
Does anyone know how to customize the order of the soft keys on a 7960 running SIP? All the documentation I could find is CallManager related. Specifically, I want to move the transfer function to the first set of buttons during a call.

Cisco 7905
Can anyone tell me the features of the Cisco 7905 with SIP? I mean things like number of lines, speakerphone, transfer buttons, etc. I've seen the Cisco material, but all it told me was how nifty it is and how wonderful the XML interface will be ;) Thanks, --Ernest

Upgrading the 7960 Image
I am in the process of upgrading a Cisco 7960 to the P0S3-06-3- 00.bin image. It's hanging when it reaches the status message "upgrading". I have two other phones that successfully upgraded. When I researched on the internet it appears that there is a problem with upgrading directly from the image that is currently on this particular phone, PC030300, and that I should go to

Update, now can't unlock
I started a yum update this afternoon and there were lots of updates (182) so I presume it's the 4.5 update. Now I can't unlock the session with my password! Any ideas? (no caps lock is not on!) -- Peter Crighton

[patch] unlock i_mutex in error path
There is an error path in ocfs2_quota_write() that doesn't unlock &gqinode->i_mutex(). That seems unintentional. Found by smatch (http://repo.or.cz/w/smatch.git).
