Insights on SIP channel usage in * 1.2.7.1 are welcome!
I've had a heck of a time getting a SIP channel to work in Asterisk 1.2.7.1 (Redhat 9.0). I've done it successfully a number of times on pre 1.2 versions of Asterisk so perhaps it's version related. Any insights are welcome! At first I wasn't able to dial out on the SIP channel _whenever_ I started Asterisk (i.e. not just when the box was booted). I always had to do a reload

What is "WARNING: Got 200 OK on REGISTER that isn't a register"?
Hi Last couple of days I received the subject "WARNING" message on a home-based asterisk pbx. Is someone spoofing a "register" method on port 5060? Or, is this "warning" something random (sort of like sporadic alarms on an analog port)? (This "warning" message is from chan_sip.c). Am running asterisk V1.4.18; (the hardware is an AMD 64 X2 and a Digium 400P

Unable to Register to Asterisk through Proxy
Hi, Has anybody come across a situation where they were unable to register with Asterisk through a SIP stateless proxy server? I'm getting an error: "403 Authentication user name does not match account name" As far as I can tell the requests reaching Asterisk with and without the proxy are identical excepting the IP address the REGISTER request is coming from and the Via header

register suddenly fails
Hi everybody, I've got a very strange problem: As far as I remember I didn't change anything on my Asterisk side. I have 2 SIP providers to which I can place outbound calls. Today I noticed that outbound calls to provider "inode" fail (and inbound from this provider too). On the CLI I get every 20 seconds following messages: Nov 9 20:01:07 NOTICE[952]: chan_sip.c:5422

Problem with incoming calls on Broadvoice after upgrade to 1.4.18
Hi all, I just upgraded to Asterisk 1.4.18 a few days ago and I don't use Broadvoice TOO often, however I have a Vermont number with them and so my mother in law calls it to talk to my wife once in a while, so that's why it took me so long to notice it wasn't working. Anyway, when she calls she gets a busy signal (as I've tested when calling it from my cell). When I enable

SIP Incoming / Inbound not working for Broadvoice (Asterisk PBX 1.6.1.6)
Hello, Please forgive me if I'm repeating this post. I have searched and looked for similar problem with a solution but have not see a similar one. My outgoing SIP and other channels work fine but the incoming/inbound SIP call goes straight to Broadvoice voicemail. I see that Broadvoice is registered when I look at the SIP registry. I have turned on SIP Debug and it is below. Anyone know

*** Asterisk Summer News: Forget numbers, dial by domain!
Welcome to a new issue of Asterisk Summer News! The holiday season is coming to an end here in Sweden, people are getting back to work and the kids will start going to school next week. Life is slowly adopting to normal and I have to start dressing more towards a businessman than a beach bum. Guess I have to start going to the gym again as well. Anyway, back to the topic. Asterisk and VoIP.
