Cell gateway for T-Mobile US??
Most gateways I have found are only sold overseas.
Do these work in the US?
My provider is T-Mobile (using their Blackberries).
They support:
GSM (I am pretty sure)
GPRS
EDGE
We get unlimited Cell to Cell minutes and would like to leverage the
possible savings.
Does anyone know of a product that they have been happy with?
SIP or Analog is fine although SIP (or IAX) is preferred for the

Grandstream Budge Tone 101 keeps deregistering
Hello,
I have a problem with one of three [topic] phones. The phone, which is
on the LAN in the same subnet as Asterisk, keeps unregistering from the
Asterisk server. Whan it is unregistered there is no way to make a phone
call from it, but once it is rang by any other of the phones it
registers to Asterisk again. The other two are absolutely fine.
The problematic one [ecco] puts this messages

ZtDummy vs Hardware
I was wondering what could be pros and cons of ztdummy vs proper timer
device (i.e. X100P).
I am going to set up an asterisk server in europe (to do trunking, to
save bandwith) and I was wondering if it'll be OK to get it going with
ztdummy.
Furthermore, I have only a 1024/256kbps PPPOE DSL link and I need to
squeeze 12 channels through, I was wondering which codec would be
suitable

Newbie Question: Xen Server & Linux Xen Dom0 Differences and a usage query
Hello All
I was planning to Implement Xen using Linux Xen dom0 based install
when I saw an Ad stating that Xen had made its Xen Server free of cost
(wonder if their business model is now only support?) with Tools &
Management Application. I would like to know what are the issues
involved and Pros & cons of using Linux Dom0 Server vs. Xen Server
free.
I assume domU machines will be

HW-Recommendation: cell/mobile phone, capable of WLAN and SIP ??
Hello,
is anyone on the list using a normal cell/mobile phone which is able to
act as a SIP client over WLAN?
Or has anyone heard of a SIP client for cell/mobile phones running
windows mobile 6.x?
The phone should use SIP, when the asterisk server is reachable and
should automatically switch to a German telco if it is not reachable.
Thanks for any hints,
Stefan

help with annoying warning message: Asked to transmit frame type ulaw, while native formats is 0x2 (gsm) read/write = 0x2 (gsm)/0x2 (gsm)
Hi all,
i have a little problem to understand this warning message, it's annoying
and it cause a lot of spurious in the log files.
Im working with this scenario:
a sip outgoing trunk (Trunk-out) that support only ulaw and all calls are
always routed to this.
a list of sip UAs that potentially can use any codec apart g729/g723.
I setup the asterisk to do as mediaproxy so directmedia=no and

network design philosophy and practice
I'm wondering how prevalent the practice of physically segregating voice
and data networks is in the Real World.
What are the factors that typically lead to such a decision?
DIscussions of pros and cons are most welcome by me.
Experiences, anybody?

SMB Network design guidelines
Hi:
Can anybody point me to some guidelines about SMB network design or
give some advice? Samba HOWTOs are very detailed recipes, but I need
some general tips, like if we are serving fish or pasta tonight :-)
This is the situation: a WAN with 20 offices with 2 to 30 people in
each, plus a headquarter with 50 people, plus the databases and
central file servers. The organization grew up on a NT4

[LLVMdev] Proposal: global symbol offsets
Hi,
I'd like to propose that we introduce a mechanism in LLVM for
declaring that the symbol for a given global variable should be
assembled at a given offset from the start of the data for that global.
The main reason for doing this would be to allow a module to conform to
an externally imposed ABI which requires data to be present below
a symbol. We have two specific use cases in mind at
