A few months ago I discovered *. Recently have taken more interest in it, since I have to install phones into my wife's small office. Hope that my questions weren't discussed recently and are not to dumb. The current requirements for * consist of a single incoming ISDN BRI line (currently have 5 MSN allocated), 3 internal extensions and a single analog fax. 1. I plan to buy some el

VoIP gateway (2 FXO, 2 FXS)
Does anyone know a good (and stable) voip gateway product with 4 ports (2 fxo and 2 fxs), with the following requirements: * being able to connect analog phones to the FXS ports, and communicate over SIP with an REGISTRAR/PROXY server (SER in our case). * being able to connect the FXO port to local office PSTN network, and dial to that office pstn number and getting an internal dialtone, or

Problems on SIP gateway (especially Planet VIP-450)
Hi all, I am having problem in using SIP gateway in a very high volume environment (4+ concurrent dial-in) and phone calls in every seconds. There are totally 12 phone lines. Currently I am using 6x VIP-450 for 12 FXS and 12 FXO. However, in this high volume environment, problems encountered: 1) After the gateway running for about 30 minutes, the VIP-450 becomes very unstable. When I try to

Floating VIP...
Hi, right now I am using only one external server as a gateway for the internal servers. I would like to enable a fail-over on a second server. To implement the floating VIP, should I use heartbeat+pacemaker? Or is there something more "lightweight"? Basically, I just need server2 up the VIP when server1 is down, and server2 down the VIP when server1 is back up (or server 1 does not up

DECT delay once hungup
I've got the following setup: IAXy -> Dect Base Station. When you dial from a SIP phone (cisco 7960), the rings with very little delay. However, if you hangup it takes 3-4 rings after hanging up before the dect base station phone stops ringing. The same applies when an incoming call is directed from PSTN FXO -> Dect Base. Is there a fix to this I've looked about on voip-info but

OT - Is handover included in DECT GAP ?
Hi, Do you if a DECT-GAP (or DECT-CAP) compliant handset MUST or MAY support roaming and handover and are these functions transparent for handset (then, these functions are implemented in DECT base stations) ? [NEWBIE] Right dect to buy to use with asterisk
Hello, I need to setup this configuration: - asterisk as IVR; - dect phones. So basically I need a "standard set" of features: - each dect phone has its extension so I can call it directly; - handover of a call with "R" key; - if a call is not replied by someone ring all phones. I have little budget. I can choose to buy a fritz!box or a gigasect dect/ip base station. Which

DECT to SIP gateway experiences
G'day. I hope this isn't off-topic for the list. I am looking at an Asterisk setup that includes cordless phones. The three choices I can see, at this stage, are: * wifi phones * an ATA and a cordless analog phone * a DECT to SIP basestation The various wifi phone options don't grab us as suitable -- they are costly, have poor battery life and even the best have pretty mixed

Anyone that know of DECT "client" for asterisk?
Anyone here that knows some hardware USB "client" (DECT) that can connect to a DECT base station and act as a "provider" in asterisk? Ergo, asterisk is the DECT handset, and connects to the DECT base station. Its also important that it also works with most asterisk-compatible devices, including for example raspberry's. The reason I ask, is that many providers in

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect. Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect? Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

DECT SIP phones
Hi folks: I know it's come up a few times before, but I need some more detail. I'm looking for a SIP DECT (cordless) phone for North American installations. I've heard only of the Siemens Gigaset S450/C450 phones. Apparently these aren't sold for use in NAm, even though they're supposed to be legal (in the United States, anyway). On top of that, I understand they have some

DECT and Asterisk...
Hi folks, The recent mention of DECT on this list has got me thinking....... (yeah dangerours!) I have very little experience/knowledge with DECT and mainly where I have seen it used in a multibase base situation where handoff between bases occurr. This has been and ericsson system used as an adjuct to an ericsson pbx on a large multistorey property. If I remember correctly the bases are fed 2

Load balanced VIP
Hello everyone! I am working on implementing my first Gluster/Ganesha NFS setup and I am flowing this guide: http://blog.gluster.org/2015/10/linux-scale-out-nfsv4-using-nfs-ganesha-and-glusterfs-one-step-at-a-time Everything is working fine. I've got Gluster and Ganesha NFS working and I have VIPs on each node and it is failing over fine, if a little slowly. However, the VIPs don't

DECT gateways
Heya list, I need some advice/experience. Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk if there won't be a DECT solution. They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc. All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX, so we cannot use them
