plot xyz data in 2D
Hello, I want to make an 2D plot of .xyz data. So plot on x-axis and y-axis and use a color scale for the z. For every x-location along a cross section of the soil at several depths a resistivity must be displayed. This must result in a picture/graph which shows the resistivity for that cross section. The depths differ for each x-location. How can I do that? In fact it is an cross

Failed to join domain: failed to find DC for administrator@XYZ
Hello everyone I had samba 4.1 working as a member server to a windows 2012 AD in a test environment for a while now until I had to re-install the windows server from scratch. I have the new AD setup with the same NETBIOS name but now I have problems re-joining the samba box to the new AD. It looks like a DNS issue but I am unable to understand why. After the ire-install, I got a new Kerberos

Small setup
Hello All, I have a very small setup of 4 users and a X100P. Asterisk is currently running on an Athlon 1800 but the server it is running on is also our imap/web/mail/development/samba server and we are having a few issues with asterisk which I believe is down to to many tasks. What I intend to do is build a box just for asterisk(Ill call the old one obelix). I have a few machines in the loft

Lots of rsync daemons running
Hi all, We use rsync to move data from various devices to a single server. Each of these devices is powered off regularly (at least every day). On the server, rsync 3.0.5 is started from xinetd with the --daemon argument. The clients run rsync 3.0.4, protocol 30 (on ARM). Today I noticed several rsync processes (23 to be exact) running on the server since as long back as November 2009

Delete source folder?
Hello all, We're using rsync to move files from a server to a client (an embedded device, connected over GPRS) using a cron script on the client. To accomplish this, we use the --delete-source-files option. As I found in the archives, this doesn't remove any folders. Is there a way to have rsync remove the folders as well? As all data flows over the internet, we encrypt it using an SSH

rsync and MD5
Hi all! I've got a question about rsync using the MD5 algorithm. I know that rsync makes blocks of a file and then compares the checksums of each block. If the checksum is unequal the block is tranfered. Otherwise it could be that the checksum is the same but the block is different. Therefor rsync uses a 128 BIT MD5 algorithm. Now, at what filesize is it better to check the whole file

Run rsync through intermediary server with SSH
I'm using rsync, ssh, and cron glued together with Python as a push-based synchronization system. From a single location, I push content out to various offices. I log stdout/stderr on the master server to make sure everything is running smoothly. I would now like for some of our "regional hubs" to take on some of the load (bandwidth-wise), while still retaining my centralized

Order of methods for optimx
Dear R-er, For a non-linear optimisation, I used optim() with BFGS method but it stopped regularly before to reach a true mimimum. It was not a problem with limit of iterations, just a local minimum. I was able sometimes to reach better minimum using several rounds of optim(). Then I moved to optimx() to do the different optim rounds automatically using "Nelder-Mead" and

ROC from R-SVM?
*Hi, *Does anyone know how can I show an *ROC curve for R-SVM*? I understand in R-SVM we are not optimizing over SVM cost parameter. Any example ROC for R-SVM code or guidance can be really useful. Thanks, Angel. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Advanced testing tutorials on Web?
Everyone talks testing, but I don''t see much about it. I have been searching the web for about 5 hours and I can''t seem to find a good, advanced tutorial on the latest trends in testing. Everything is either outdated or very simplistic. Does anyone know where I might find good testing What are you using? Test::Unit Tess::Rails Selenium Something new that I don''t know

Problem with cyrillic in postscript
Hi all, When I plot some graph with cyrillic (namely russian) titles it looks ok, but after saving this figure as eps file I get damaged title fonts. The command dev.copy2eps was used in the following manner: dev.copy2eps("test.eps") or, for example dev.copy2eps("test.eps",family='NimbusSan') What is wrong? I use R 2.6.0 under Windows. Any help will be appreciated.

Add CMake build instructions to README

Repeated SANN values.
I tried optim using the SANN algoithm. To start things out I tried the example of solving the "traveling salesman" problem as given in the documentation. The example works just fine. But if I comment out the line: set.seed(123) # chosen to get a good soln relatively quickly More often than not it doesn't converge to the optimum solution as shown in the example. Alos with trace on

a long hard road
OK one factor that I had not mentioned previously is this is my first time running Debian (yes I managed to do that since 1997...). Yesterday I found /etc/network/interfaces and understood what it does! My system is like the "About My Network" example except that I have 2 class Cs in the DMZ. >From what I understand I use the same IP on the NET and DMZ interfaces. I don''t
