Alarmreciver finally found ATA
Hi,
I finally found an ATA which works really well with asterisk and its
application alarmreceiver. Frankly it works just like the TDM card. It is
Soundwin S800 series ATA.
Cheers

Alarmreceiver
Hi,
I just want to ask if anyone has some experience with Alarmreceiver application in * 1.2? Is this application reliable (according to wiki it isn't)?
I managed to communicate Asterisk (Alarmreceiver) with a burglar alarm, but it behaves very strange. Sometimes alarmreceiver is able to get some events but sometimes not.
Maybe there are some other non commercial applications which work under

Changing `security@freebsd.org' alias
Hello Folks,
The official email address for this list is
`freebsd-security@freebsd.org'. Due to convention, there is an email
alias for this list: security@freebsd.org, just as there is for
hackers@ & freebsd-hackers@, arch@ & freebsd-arch@, and so on.
The security@freebsd.org alias has been the source of occassional
problems. Several times in the past, postings have been made to

AlarmReceiver?
Anyone using the AlarmReceiver? Does it work? Mine doesn't seem to
communicate properly. How can I tweak the DTMF settings? Is it in the
zaptel.conf or somewhere else??

Fax2Mail
Hello,
Is there or can anyone provide a comprehensive guide (designed for Linux/Asterisk novices) to installing/setting up Asterisk in order to support Fax2Mail service?
In my case, I would like Asterisk to receive fax calls to predefined numbers (ranges) and to associate each of these numbers to email addresses.
Thank you in advance.

PAP2 won't make two g729 calls at the same time
I have a Linksys PAP2. Identical setups for the two channels in both
the unit and in Asterisk. In particular, both channels enable g729 and
set it as the preferred codec, and have disallow=all and allow=g729 in
sip.conf.
If we make a call on one channel, it works (and uses g729), but if we
make a call on the other channel when the first one is still connected,
it fails. We have three g729

Manager API
Hi
I have a problem with Asterisk-1.6.0.3-rc1 and manager API. I want to dial
out from manager's console and with Asterisk 1.4.X this settings were OK.
Action: Originate
Channel: SIP/384
Context: main
Exten: 102
Priority: 1
Callerid: 384
I could dial out, but with asterisk 1.6 I get this error.
Response: Error

using pam_winbind to authenticate PPP?
I'm trying to set up a Linux-based dialin server on our company network.
I'd like to have PPP authenticate using winbindd, if possible. I feel like
I've almost gotten it to work, but I can't quite get there. Files:
/etc/pam.d/ppp:
#%PAM-1.0
auth required pam_nologin.so
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_winbind.so

Asterisk server
Hi,
I have to build Asterisk server for about 30 user (30 concurrent calls). I
decided to buy this box:
-- motherboard Intel E7210 + Hence Rapids
-- processor P4 3.0 GHz
-- RAM 2x512 MB DDR ECC
-- network interface Intel 82541 GI
Is this configuration enough to handle 30 users at the same time. I am not
planning to use any transcoding (everything will be alaw).
Cheers

Email2fax big problemo
Hi,
Few days ago I installed Email2fax application on my Asterisk box. I works
but not in 100 %. Sometimes (to be certain quite often) I don't receive the
whole fax. My fax machine cuts off transmission in 1/2 or 1/3 of the page. I
read about it on a wiki and some user lists and people say that this
behaviour could be cause be the Ghostscript and the conversion to the tiff
format, but when I

[LLVMdev] Tablegen question
I want to add a set of "properties" to each instruction in my

CDR
Hi
I have a question if there was a major change in CDR?
Few days ago I have upgraded to 1.4.12.1 from 1.4.4 and something bizarre
happened. After the upgrade I have no call details in the cdr table when the
call did not go through because of for example: Unable to create the channel
of type Sip - no route to destination. In such situation the call does not
exist in the cdr table while it was

[LLVMdev] Tablegen question
Manjunath,
I asked this question recently, but instead of telling you to search the archive
I'm going to take it as a chance to recall how to do it (because I'll do so anyway
and even telling tablegen to use an enum for instructions is not as trivial to do
as you might think : )
I wrote it up in the wiki at

Realtime extensions
Hi
I am having a problem with extension matching in asterisk (I am using
asterisk 1.6.0.6). Is there a difference between extensions matching
in realtime architecture and extensions matching in extensions.conf
file.
For example when I have these two extensions:
-- _0699[134]XXXXX
-- _06[069]XXXXXXX
that are in the database and number 0699123123 comes in asterisk will
always choose exten
