gsm picocells
Is anyone in the world making gsm 'picocells' which could be connected to an Asterisk server and allow gsm mobiles to roam to them (and therefore become just another extension) when in the office? Obviously lots of things to consider (it's a licensed band) which I think was the big holdup last time I asked this question anywhere. I know there was talk about using them on aircraft

Problems with Outbound Calls
Hi everyone! I'm quite a newbie at this Asterisk stuff so please bear with me. We've recently decided to start training in Asterisk via AsteriskNow! Asterisk version is 1.4.18.1 through AsteriskNow! 1.02 The box we have is paired with a Digium TE110P and we've managed to get it to the point where incoming calls via a single DID (from NTT Japan) can be received and answered

Asterisk with MySQL
You are reading the instructions for the STABLE 1.0 version of asterisk and are using the CVS version. Goto the wiki and read the instructions for RealTime. -Matthew ----- Original Message ----- From: "Muhammad Rizwan Khan" <rizwan@advcomm.net> To: <Asterisk-Dev@lists.digium.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 05, 2005 12:42 PM Subject: [Asterisk-Dev] Asterisk with MySQL >

Use DECT GAP handsets with Snom M3 base?
Anyone have practical experience using inexpensive GAP-compliant DECT handsets with the Snom M3 basestation? When I asked Snom support, the answer was that 'basic functionality should work', but they didn't elaborate. I'm _guessing_ that means registering/unregistering with the base, making calls, and receiving calls (including presenting caller ID). They also stated that they

DECT SIP phones
Hi folks: I know it's come up a few times before, but I need some more detail. I'm looking for a SIP DECT (cordless) phone for North American installations. I've heard only of the Siemens Gigaset S450/C450 phones. Apparently these aren't sold for use in NAm, even though they're supposed to be legal (in the United States, anyway). On top of that, I understand they have some

OT - DECT handset with Line key
Hi, I need to replace digital handsets in offices where there cabling is appareantly not Ethernet-compliant. Today's usage is to press a key to toggle between private ou public line before issuing an outgoing call. Are you aware of a DECT handset (to overcome cabling limitations) that mimic this line-key behaviour ? For instance, acceptable behaviours would be to dial number string and press

FX Dialing Odd
Here's a possible bug, or more likely, I'm just missing something. We have a pots card in one of our asterisk boxes. Its a simple asterisk setup with one FXO/FXS card and basic static extensions file, etc. When we dial out over the pots line, 4 out of 5 times, it will work. However, every 4 or 5 times, we get an error back from the provider that says "The number you have dialed.....

OT - DECT-GAP Handsets with Polycom-Kirk 600/3 base station
Hi, I need to subscribe and use several Polycom-Kirk 5020 handsets along non-Polycom-Kirk handsets on a one-cell Polycom-Kirk 600/3 base station. Has anyone tried this ? Which values did you pick for Subscription mode (with or without Account Code) and IPEI ? Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Intro to DECT vs IP
We've deoplyed a number of pure VoIP wireless (wifi & proprietary) phones, but not dect. Is there a simple overview of integrating DECT phones with Asterisk somewhere? I assume the DECT basestation has a multi-account SIP VoIP interface, and the handsets are just plain old dect? Can you push configuration info to individual phones? (Are they individually addressible / configurable

OT - Is handover included in DECT GAP ?
Hi, Do you if a DECT-GAP (or DECT-CAP) compliant handset MUST or MAY support roaming and handover and are these functions transparent for handset (then, these functions are implemented in DECT base stations) ? DECT gateways
Heya list, I need some advice/experience. Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk if there won't be a DECT solution. They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc. All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX, so we cannot use them

DECT to SIP gateway experiences
G'day. I hope this isn't off-topic for the list. I am looking at an Asterisk setup that includes cordless phones. The three choices I can see, at this stage, are: * wifi phones * an ATA and a cordless analog phone * a DECT to SIP basestation The various wifi phone options don't grab us as suitable -- they are costly, have poor battery life and even the best have pretty mixed

Kirk SIP-DECT gateway
Hi, I just got some interesting information from Kirk Telecom (www.kirktelecom.com). This company has been in the business of providing DECT solutions (IP gateway, base stations, repeaters and handsets) either to be used with Cisco CallManager (SCCP protocol) or with the Innovaphone IP PBX system (H.323). Two important elements: 1. It seems they foresee a SIP version of their product in Q1
