Re: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
I understand what you're saying now. While I have absolutely no proof of this, I have to believe that it's something they've solved. I've got several production systems (since early December of last year) using the type of cluster that I'm talking about, and I've yet to hear of any issues that could be related to this. I also did extensive testing both in the lab and at

Re: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
Do you mean the peristence of connecting a specific phone to a specific server? If so, then it's relatively easy. The ldirectord has a persistence setting that does that. If I'm misunderstanding you, then could you explain further what you mean? RE: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
At the moment I'm out of the office, but when I return I'll be certain to do that. Note that my solution is different from what you are working on with regexten, though I suspect some of the challenges that I've faced and overcome are not. I'm actually using UltraMonkey for load-balancing and failover of the Asterisk boxes, and my dialplan is set up so that it need not be changed

DUNDi Not Able to Handle ComplexFailoverSituations
Is it possible for you to explain in more detail the situation involved. I'm still thinking that what you're trying to achieve can be done at least with the help of DUNDi weights, but I still don't think I have a full grasp of the solution you're crafting. DUNDi Docs
Does anyone know where I can find some good DUNDi docs? The ones are dundi.org are absolutely horrible. The examples in dundi.conf are pretty much useless. I still can't figure out why Digium can't write some good documentation. It's their 'baby' after all. This really drives me nuts and pisses people off in general. I've been dicking around with DUNDi for over 6 months and

DUNDi with SIP
Anyone out there have a functional DUNDi configuration using SIP for the inter-Asterisk transport? I've gotten it to work with IAX2, but if I change it to SIP it does not pass the call over even though it knows where to send it. Thanks. RE: DUNDi .... Halfway and CLUSTERING
Doug, I feel your pain. I have, since 3 days ago, all but giving up on dundi in a enterprise/carrier core scalable environment, mostly due to no ability to summarize dial plan routes across several servers that may or may not have contiguous extensions registered across the cluster. Example server 1 has exten 1234, 1235, 1001, 1002 registered and server 2 has 1236, 1237, 1003, 1004. But also in

Config Revision Control
Has anyone got any neat solutions for Asterisk .conf file revision control? We have multiple Asterisk boxes here, that we'd like to maintain a _mostly_ common set of conf files on. They aren't all the same though. There's subtle differences. For example, in sip.conf, iax.conf etc, the bindaddr setting is different. Dundi.conf is very different between each system. At the moment I

Polycom or Linksys phones bootp tftp config setup
Hi All, Has anyone gotten the polycoms or the linksys phones to accept oprtion 66 on the dhcp request for the address of the tftp config server? We have the dhcp server issuing the proper IP of the tftp server, but the phones just sit there and never try to contact the tftp server for their configs. We can see the proper option going from the dhcp to the phones with ethereal trace. Thanks JR

DUNDi .... Halfway
Well, I've been dicking around with DUNDi for about 4 hours now. I have two systems that I am trying to get to peer with each other. Queries are working one way, but not the other. The server, pbx1, that is refusing to deliver any queries and logs what's below to the console. Why??? I've checked all the config files more times than I can remember. The 'RFC' for DUNDi at

SIP Header Info
I remember seeing something somewhere that described how I could get SIP header information with Asterisk. It was a command or a variable. Anyone know what it is? Thanks. Doug.

FW: cdr_addon_mysql.so did not register itselfduringload
Ok so something is missing. I get the below for those two lines. checking for mysql_config... /usr/bin/mysql_config checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no I even installed the mysql-devel as Bradley Watkins suggested and still it says no. What do I need to make that say yes? Thanks -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com

Click-to-dial CTI for Windows
Hello guys, Is there a decent click-to-dial CTI which works well with Asterisk? We have vanilla asterisk implementation and I have tried a few (ADA, Outcall etc) but they have poor documentation and don't work very well. We are looking for an application which can allow us to dial a number from Outlook and IE/Firefox for outbound calls and get a pop-up for inbound calls with call history

Asterisk Native Sounds - in case you missed it...
Hello everyone, I was just looking over some logs, and it appears that there have been less than 3,000 downloads for my native Asterisk sounds packages (all formats combined). What gives ;)? In my humble opinion, EVERYONE (unless you have your own in a different voice/language) that uses Asterisk should be using these prompts. How about a direct link this time:

SE Michigan asterisk users group
I am thinking of getting an asterisk user group together for either SE Michigan or just Metro-Detroit. How much interest in asterisk in Michigan is there on this list? I am already on the board of glimasoutheast, with is a group for technology professionals. (very broad range) It is a spin-off from Automation Alley, which is SE Michigan's version of Silicone Valley. -- Steven

'extensions reload' clears Regextens
I hope I have this wrong, but when I have a bunch of priority 1 NoOp's created from regexten in sip.conf, and I do an 'extensions reload', I lose all the priority 1 NoOps! This can't be right... this means that in a production environment, if you make a change to your dialplan and do an 'extensions reload', you lose your ability to terminate calls to phones on this system.

AEL - what is error: ael.flex:647 ael_yylex: Unhandled char(s):
Hi List, When doing 'ael reload' on two servers, which are setup with asterisk 1.4.22 and 1.4.35 respectively, I am getting multiple lines of this strange error: ERROR[15483]: ael.flex:647 ael_yylex: Unhandled char(s): On three other servers with same versions of asterisk, i.e. 1.4.22, I don't see this error. astdb entry in sip.conf
Using svn trunk, I was trying to see what the astdb entry in the sip.conf file does. Nothing :) I presume that it's meant to create an entry in the astdb. so, I have astdb=chan2ext/SIP/grandstream1=1234 in sip.conf But database show only gives *CLI> database show /SIP/Registry/706 : 192.168.0.200:5060:3600:706:sip:706@192.168.0.200:5060
