MC
I've tried to install midnight commander on centos3.1 final. No luck in
installing it via yum install. When I download src.rpm from centos2 updates
SRPMS I couldn't rebuild it. RPM --rebuild mc*.src.rpm didn't work (no
rebuild option). What can I do then ?

SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet!
I am running Samba 3.0.9/KRB5 1.4 on Centos 3.4 on x86 with security = ADS in a Win2k3 domain. I have successfully used kinit to authenticate, joined the domain, and wbinfo -g/-u/-t return the expected results. However, when I try and access the samba shares from a Win2k3 box, it fails telling me I don't have permissions to access the share. Needless to say I am thoroughly perplexed. I have

Right. The sequence is not at all hard to hide from such a per

stop a pentium.
Some claim that "it stops the clock" because the temp of the

pentium f00f crash and IP fragment bug crash fixes...
these are both fixed in 2.0.32-pre4 and 2.1.63. The 2.0.32-pre4 stuff seems
very solid, though the f00f bug fix is not proper for SMP machines yet. It
looks like 2.0.32-pre5 fixes the f00f bug on SMP machines properly. All of
these are available on ftp.kernel.org:

Pentium M + RHEL 5.1 ( XEN 3.0.3 )
I''ve ran into a bunch of threads and postings that seem to be outdated or
end up on a different topic. I can''t seemto find one that will actually
help.
What I need is to simply re-compile Xen (and maybe the kernel) for a Pentium
M computer that does NOT support PAE.
If I install CentOS 5.1 (without XEN) on Pentium M machine. What do I have
to do next to recompile and turn off

problem: use install.packages() with proxy under Windows 2000 wit h Pentium 4 machine
Dear R people,
I have been trying to use install.package() to install packages from CRAN.
The machine is a Windows 2000 with Pentium 4.
The machine operates under a proxy environment. I have followed advices I
found on R-help mailing list: change internet2.dll to internet.dll so that R
will use the same setting as Internet Explorer uses. After I made the
change, R crashes when I attempt to

Use 8GB RAM on Pentium D?
Hello:
I have a Supermicro SuperServer 5015P-TR.
It has a Pentium D and is running CentOS x86_64.
Can this machine use 8GB RAM?
I think it should because it is running a 64 bit
OS, but I am concerned because it is fundamentally
32 bit hardware.
Anyone have any experience in this area?
Thanks,
Neil

I would use FreeBSD (and I do use FreeBSD for bacula, now bareos backup
server and storage hosts), it has really

CentOS will work, but you might start with minimal (but make sure it
includes networking).
Please note that I installed CentOS 6, just

I?m fresh out of FreeBSD world. Depending on the port, it can be easy and predictable, or an absolute confusion-fest.

CentOS 6 requires a PAE supporting CPU.

"Old Pentium" isn't very precise; the first Pentiums were in 1993!
The least demanding distributions I know are Bodhi,

We use mysql as database backend for bacula, and it becomes heavy loaded,
