Re: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 12, Issue 25
Hi,
Updating zaptel gives me this during the make. Any
ideas, the
searches and Wiki gives me no hints.

[PATCH RFC 2/9] console: prepare for non-COMn port support
Widen SERHND_IDX (and use it where needed), introduce a flush low level
driver method, and remove unnecessary peeking of the common code at the
(driver specific) serial port identification string in the "console="
command line option value.

Usage monitoring per user
Hi Alex, John
Thanks for confirming my suspicion that there is no getting away from POSIX
tree traversal . I was aware of age-du but not robinhood.
Cheers

Usage monitoring per user
Hi,
There are several programs that will basically take the outputs of your
scans and store the results in a database. If you size the database
appropriately, then querying that database will be much quicker than
querying the filesystem. But of course the results will be a little bit
outdated.
One such project is robinhood. https://github.com/cea-hpc/robinhood/wiki

Memory leak in asterisk CVS
Hi,
My Asterisk CVS is apparently not doing much (other than keeping SIP &
IAX2 registrations alive and doing some ZAP calls (without
echo-cancellation), but slowly the memory is filling up, so much so that
100m virtual memory is used up within 12 hours and I have to restart the
asterisk application every 48 hours to make sure I have enough memory...
How can I help resolve this problem?

patching 2.4.13
Hi all,
Thanks for the prompt reply about 2.4.13.
I applied the patch after I'd applied the win4lin and mki patches and it
fails. The .rej file is included after this message. If you need any further
info I'll try and supply it.
Thanks
Robyn

-- Serious issues with current CVS?
I had a compile problem with the CVS I downloaded on 21 June.
I have a Debian box with 2.4.18 kernel (version needed for support of
Conexant ADSL). There is a difficulty with Zaptel build regarding HDLC
detection. It tries to build it in and then results in unresolved kernel
symbols and fails to load.
I have had to comment out the entire HDLC defines in zconfig.h to get a
driver to install at

[Bridge] [PATCH] (4/4) bridge forwarding table RCU
Convert the bridge forwarding database over to using RCU.
This avoids a read_lock and atomic_inc/dec in the fast path

Zaptel doesn't see remote hangup ? euro-isdn
Hi
Just received my spanky new TE405P today to replace my Cisco gateway...
After much fiddling (I forgot to switch it to E1) I got it to work and
everything "seems" to work perfectly on our ISDN PRI.
If I dial-in from the PSTN to a SIP phone, the call goes through and if I
hangup either the SIP phone or the remote end, the call gets disconnected
and destroyed
However, if I dial-in

Non Asterisk - Apology to the list
As John Brown says in his mail why fill the list with netiquette posts,
yes he's right.
In my defence I just want to say that when you're fighting deep clinical
depression every thing that goes wrong seems a personal attack on you
and you forget about everything else including the results of your own
actions.
Again sorry folks.

SIP Registration Difficulties
I have SIP registrations working correctly for FWD and Sipphone, but it
is impossible to connect to Sipcall or Nikotel, I saw that someone on
the list has problems with ICH.
To try and sort out the problem I tried to register to Sipcall with
Linphone and sent the dialogs to tech support of the equipment provider.
Here is their answer:-
The reason the registration fails is because not
