current maturity Samba 4
Hello, it would be nice to know in the community as it is the maturity of the fourth samba at putting in a production environment. It would be wise to put the Samba 4 in a production environment, or would play the most recommended solution samba + openldap? rsync - windows how should I compile the code any clues - Thanks !
Hi, I have a unique issue that I am dealing with here. I need to develop rsync algorithm into a library that can be re-used with my VB / VC application on Windows platform. I need your advice if there is any library already available on the Internet for this? I did get librsync but that is just a header file which I do not know how to compile also with the existing code I have. Can you

[LLVMdev] Treatment of TType encoding in EHT entries
Hi, I ran into a crash using Objective-C with llvm/clang on ARM-Linux. The crash happens while unwinding the stack from pthread_exit as soon as the first call frame is reached that belongs to a function that uses the personality routine from libobjc2. This function is in a shared library (libgnustepbase), and here's the start of its entry in the execption table: GCC_except_table20:

[Bridge] Multicast: handling of STA disconnect
Hi Nik, Flushing MDB can only be done when we are managing it per station not per port. For that we need to have MCAST_TO_UCAST, EHT and FAST_LEAVE. Here one more point is - some vendors may offload MCAST_TO_UCAST conversion in their own FW to reduce CPU. So, the best way is to have MCAST_TO_UCAST enabled and MDB will become per station, so we can delete MDB on disconnect. Shall, I create one

instead of nvi - test program
[Sorry, it seems that I overlooked this message -- alex] Hi, Since nvi is hard to come by, here is a little program to mimic the behavior of nvi on any file you care to try... usage: locklogin file_to_lock It first tries POSIX locking and then does BSD flavor. It seems that it is BSD after all that is causing the trouble... Best wishes Andrew #!/bin/csh -f # Uuencoded gz-compressed file

cant browse user home directories
I had to reainstall my server and couldnt avoid upgrading samba. Before reinstalling, I had samba configured to let users browse their home folders from Windows PCs using their Unix system user/pass. Now, it is not possible, I have just managed to implement the same authentication system as before and give access to a public folder. The home folders remains invisible, if I set browseable = yes,

Arguments of a function
Dear all, I have a question about how to set arguments in my own function. For example, I have a function that looks like this: my.f <- function(a = x1, b = x2) { x1 = equation 1 x2 = equation 2 x3 = equation 3 y = a + b } x1, x2, and x3 are temporary variables (intermediate results) calculated from other variables within the funciton. I want to use two of these three

Htb, imq and sfq traffic shaping
Hello, I wrote a simple traffic shaping script (below) that should have allowed me to shape my internet traffic a bit (ppp0 - adsl 128kbit/64kbit; local interface eth0). The script works only partially - the speed is being limited but too much. Without running this script my download rate is about 10kBytes (with second computer also downloading at about 6kBytes). After running it my download speed
