Cannot install
Hi, Beta 8, selected server & developer. The installation goes into a loop on disk 2, with the error, that it cannot read zlib-devel... claiming that either the file is corrupted or the drive is not working. The disk is OK: md5 ok The file is OK, I can open it on the same machine in Windows and see the files within the rpm. Any suggestion? -- Thanks syv at 911networks.com

What's the best way to install/update: * Gnome from 2.2 to 2.6 * Mozilla to Firefox They are not in the yum packages. It would be great if they would, or is there a yum repository with it. -- Thanks syv at 911networks.com When the network has to work

Restart after crash
Hi, Is it possible do have fsck to run automatically [without operator intervention], if it was not a clean shutdown. Right now, somebody has to bring a monitor & keyboard and say Y, if not it will not run and verify the drive. This is for remote headless servers. -- Thanks http://www.911networks.com

IBM x226 lockups, convert CentOS to RHEL 3.0
I have a friend who has been having an intermittent problem with his nice, shiny new IBM x226 server. It's a Xeon processor, 1.5Gb RAM, hardware RAID controller running CentOS 3 The system will will sometimes run for a couple of weeks, then simply lock up -- nothing on the console, no response to pings, no "caps-lock" lights, no kernel panic indicators, nothing in the logs to

Hosed by 4.2
Hi, I have been using Centos since 3.0. I have been upgrading regularly without any major problem. 4.1 to 4.2 has been a total disaster. I ran yum update, it went through and a couple of hours later I rebooted and X froze with the screen just being just fuzz [regular rectangles, orange, green...] and the keyboard froze. Could not do a alt-ctrl-backspace, nor a Alt-F1-6 nor Alt-Ctrl-Del. I

FIPS compliance efforts in Fedora and RHEL
Hi OpenSSH mailing list, I would like to announce the newly introduced patch in Fedora rawhide [0] for FIPS compliance efforts. The change will be introduced in an upcoming RHEL 9 version. The patch targets OpenSSL support of OpenSSH, specifically the usage of old low level API. The new OpenSSL version 3.0 introduces a FIPS module (going through FIPS 140-2 validation and to be FIPS 140-3

[LLVMdev] Proposal to add Bitcode version field to bitcode file wrapper
Sorry if I was unclear. There are currently no “known incompatibilities” that I am aware of, although I fully admit to not being an expert on the topic. The idea is that we add versioning information to the bitcode so that if an issue were discovered, it could be easily detected and dealt with. Bind src.rpm from CentOS or RHEL 5 beta
Anybody knows where can I find the src.rpm package with Bind that was included in the RHEL5 beta (or in the upcoming CentOS 5 beta)? I assume it's legal to download and rebuild this src.rpm since the license is GPL, right? -- Florin Andrei http://florin.myip.org/

Hi Guys, I'm facing this issue: https://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=8482 It came after upgrading to 7.1 and only Firefox is affected, Chrome is working. Parrot
This is just an idea for comment. Perl6, the upcoming version of Perl has separated out the runtime into a virtual machine called Parrot. There are already several small languages (one is C-like, one is Java-like and one is BASIC-like) that target Parrot and given the popularity of Perl its likely that others may attempt to target it too. If R could interface easily with Parrot then it might be

Solr -> Xapian ?
Maybe a dumb question (I admit I haven't followed this thread very closely)... But why are you writing a new FTS driver? If squat allegedly does everything you need it to do, why don't you just take that plugin and fix it up to do what you need? That seems way easier than trying to create a FTS driver from scratch. michael > On January 7, 2019 at 7:05 AM Joan Moreau via dovecot

[LLVMdev] Proposal to add Bitcode version field to bitcode file wrapper
Hi, We would like to add a version number to the bitcode wrapper. This feature would allow easier identification of what compiler produced the bitcode so that known incompatibilities with LTO compilation could be detected. Roughly speaking, this version number would consist of the major, minor and optionally the patch version of the compiler used to produce the bitcode. The version information

Tearing in my buffered animation test script...
OK, I have a basic blit demo working (thanks to Alex Fenton for his reply, which I finally saw). However, there''s a great deal of "tearing" on the screen - flickering grey lines in the black background. It looks like the blit isn''t always complete when the screen refreshes. Can anyone look at this and tell me what I might be doing wrong? Any help would be most

Solr -> Xapian ?
Also, 1 - WHat does represent "subargs" in mail_search_args 2 - I made my first code, and the error I get compiling within the dovecot architecture is "In file included from fts-xapian-plugin.c:4: fts-xapian-plugin.h:6:1: error: unknown type name 'using'; did you mean 'uint'? using namespace std;" if I remove this, the Xapian library is also complaining
