YUP, this is the way that asterisk works. It is going to quelch all DTMF that goes out via a SIP gateway via asterisk. I spent a long time working this through and it has to do with the way that asterisk deals with DTMF and the DSP.c module that sits inband to the RTP/audio stream. There is a flag called DSP_DIGITMODE_NOQUELCH that is broken that might allow the inband DTMF after answer to work

Dumb question (hang up detection/Zapata.conf)
Another dumb question... My asterisk system seems to have problems detecting hangups. I am getting a LOT of voicemails with dialtone or silence. I see over at asteriskguru.com there is an explanation of how to configure for polarity reversal in zapata.conf? Does zapata.conf have any function in systems that aren't using zaptel( I suppose not)? I am using an external gateway (wellgate

Newbie config help? Wellgate 3701a
Hi again, Kind of sheepish about asking for help, as I have only spent a day banging my head off this... I got my new Welltech 3701a, 1FXS,1FXO gateway. I flashed it with what is seemingly the appropriate firmware (SIP V1.04). This seems to have gone ok, and it is now registering both ports ok with asterisk. For 1 minute I thought I was home free and and everything was just going to work

RFC 2833 and SIP? DTMF? What am I not getting?
Hi again, I am trying to get my DTMF to use RFC 2833 rather then inband, so that I can utilize lower bandwidth codecs through my FXO. After much tinkering I was able to get my gateway (wellgate 3701A) configured to a point where I have some success, but no real joy. I have configured the RTP Payload type (or RFC2833 Payload type) to 101. I don't have a clue what this means, but I took

Welltech USA? and Wellgate Products?
Any feedback on this brand and in particular on doing business with WelltechUSA? I am looking to the Wellgate 3701A which is a 1FXS-1FXO arrangement. I am hoping to replace the near worthless Grandstream HT-488. This company is telling me that I need to wire $ directly into there bank account. Most unusual. Thanks for any feedback on this, Marty

Recommendation for FXO
Ok, I am back from my thanksgiving holiday, and I find there was a big snow storm here in Seattle. Apparently during the storm there where multiple brown out/black outs. I have struggled since day one to get a high quality PSTN gateway configured with my very long loop and Mac based asterisk. I originally tried the HT-488, which had multiple issues, and was unacceptable. I then purchased

Linksys WIP300 WiFi Phone
Whoo hoo! I just received my WIP300 from voipsupply. I have to let it charge before I can play with it. A few quick comments: - I started a Wiki page at voip-info to post issues, firmware news, etc. I really like the wealth of info on the GXP-2000 page, so I wanted to start something similar for this phone. http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Linksys%20WIP300 - My kit

Voicemail hangup by gateway?
Hi, I have a spiffy new gateway which seems quite promising. It's the Audiocodes MP114 FXS_FXO (2 of each). I have got it configured and working reasonably well, but have a couple of issues. 1) Asterisk 1.2.13 voicemail seems to be hung up on by the gateway after 10 seconds. This isn't asterisk saying it's quiet for 10 seconds, it's the gateway deciding it's time to go

transfer with MGCP
Hello, I`m try to make the attended transfer work Dlink DG-104S via FLASH, when somebody calls my phone I pickup and press flash to get a second line to call another extension. When I press flash I hear no dialtone, and only a long and then small beep. When I try to dial digits I hear again those long+short beeps, but the extension dialed is not ringing. If I pres flash again I get back to

Problem with Asterisk -> Welltech Wellgate 3502
Hi there I have some problems in setting up a connection between * and a Wellgate 1501 (1FXS). Either I can dial from * to my Wellgate or I can dial from the Wellgate to *. On the Wellgate you have to setup both "Line number" (which is the number it answers) and "Line account" (which is the account it registers as). Should I expect any problems if these are set the same?

wellgate registration 3802
I have a new wellgate 3802 unit. I have not gotten it to register with asterisk 1.2.6. My proxy setting is the correct IP in the 3802. My security config is 1001/1001 and 1002/1002 on the wellgate (simple at this time). My sip.conf has: [wellgate3802L1] type=friend dtmfmode=inband username=1001 secret=1001 host=dynamic canreinvite=yes nat=no context=wellgate [wellgate3802L2] type=friend

Requirement or just Best Practice
Hi gang, I'm in the process of documenting an 1100 line IVR dialplan. In this dialplan I have almost 300 Set commands. The numeric ones are simple; Exten => s,1,Set(TYPE3=0) My question is about the Alpha/Text values; If I do Exten => s,1,Set(beep=beep) Or Exten => s,1,Set(beep="beep") Then Exten => s,n,playback(${beep}) It seems that I get the

call waiting beep
Is there anyway to turn off the call waiting beep in the grandstream and/or cisco ata186? I have a dial statement in my extensions.conf that rings 5 phones at the same time by combining them with the & in the dial statement. i.e.) exten => blah,blah,Dial(SIP/GS1&SIP/GS2&SIP/GS3&SIP/ata186a&SIP/ata186b,25,t) If one of those lines is being used, then the user gets a really

Asteriks, GnuGk and outgoing calls
Hello there I'm quite a newbie in the IP Telephony area. I'm playing a little around with a setup with one linux box with a e100 p card installed, which functions as an Asterisk gateway and a oh323 GK(Gnu Gatekeeper). I have two h323 phones, Welltech WellGate 1501 and 3502. So far I've managed to get the two IP phones and Asterisk connected to the GK. I can place calls from one

wellgate 38XX FX & FXS voip gateways with outgoing call files
I am interested in the wellgate 38XX FXO and FXS gateways (and other similiar units). My question is can outgoing call files use these devices??? Can I fashion an outgoing call file with a channel like: SIP/WellGate-1/5551212 (for the first port) or SIP/WellGate-2/5551223 (for the second port) TO these devices behave this way? Of course incoming calls I dont see as a problem. It's asking

Call waiting question for those who know the source
I've tried to ask this before but didn't want to waste a lot of bandwidth. However, I have to give the params in order to make the exact question understood. We have 2 ZAP FXO connected to two phone lines(2xX100P) 3 phones connected to a TDM400P with FXS modules Usually a caller will be on ZAP/2 and the first outbound line in the g1 group is on ZAP/1. There are two (main) call waiting

Answer call waiting / flash with Zaptel POTS and VOIP
Hello, hoping someone out there has some ideas - I have a VOIP line that has call waiting. It is terminated at a Sipura 3000 and the POTS side of that device connects to an FXO port in my * box. I also have a POTS/PSTN line that terminates in another FXO port on my * box. There are two FXS ports which feed cordless phones. I'm using the Zaptel TDM400 card. This gives 2 extensions + 2 lines

DISA() fails to recognize dtmf where WaitExten() succeeds (DAHDI-PRI)
Is there any known reason that the DISA() routine should behave differently than WaitExten() as far as recognizing DTMF tones? If not, I suspect there's a bug here. Try it yourself--two DID's on our PRI, numbers below let you test each routine: It is my observation that some setups/phones DO and some DO NOT express this variance. --I could not show any variance on a sprint mobile phone

Queues and call waiting indication
Hi, I'm running 1.2 beta1 in a mini call center. I have 3 queues with 10 operators, and I'm running into some trouble because when all the operators are busy answering call asterisk still sends them more, resulting in a "beep beep" (call waiting) over and over again in Xlite audio. An easy solution woud be the use of a "single line" user agent, like firefly, still
