Can't get format_mp3 to work for music on hold
Hi Guys, I am having trouble trying to get format_mp3 working to play music on hold. I have followed the instructions in the read-me and the wiki however it seems after un-installing mpg123, asterisk is not even attempting to play MOH. My musiconhold.conf is ; Music on hold class definitions ; [classes] [moh_files] default = >/var/lib/asterisk/moh-native ;default =>

Odd MOH problem...
So I decided, for the formal asterisk rollout, to change over to less commercially-infringing MOH than the prior admin had thrown on the server. (plus: it was blown out and nasty sounding over the phones. Ew.) I changed the files in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 to something else (can't dig up the link, but it was from the voip-info wiki). My musiconhold.conf looks like this: ; ; Music on

useless mpg123 processes hanging around
Running Asterisk 1.6.2.11 on debian 5.0.6 with mpg123 1.4.3 when i start asterisk, i immediately see two mpg123 processes spawned which sit there forever. I can't imagine it's normal behavior, but if it is, please explain :) # /etc/init.d/asterisk stop stopping asterisk. #[...] # /etc/init.d/asterisk start starting asterisk. # psg aster root 14573 1 0 16:29 pts/2 00:00:00

MoH mysteriously stopped working
Folks, I have somewhat of a serious issue here. My music on hold mysteriously stopped working. I have made no changes to my Asterisk box in the past month and up until an hour ago, MoH was working fine (as far as I know). MOH problems
I am trying to music on hold but I am having all sorts of problems with it. I am running RH9 and the latest version of Asterisk as of yesterday. Here is what I did to test it: 1. I manually deleted the mpg123 softlink to mpg321. 2. I downloaded mpg123-0.59r-1.n0i.src.rpm, compiled and installed the the archive and loaded ztdummy.o module. 3. I threw a couple extra files in the mohmp3 directory

Only silence trying to play streaming MOH
I am having trouble getting streaming MOH to work. As far as I can tell I have everything configured properly but there is only silence. Your help is appreciated. I am running Asterisk 1.8.11-cert10 with mpg123 1.12.1 to play the stream (I have tried madplay, and mpg321, and I compiled streamplayer as well with the same results). I started by finding a working stream and tested this from the shell

slim server for moh
Hello, I have installed SlimServer for Windows on my desktop and Asterisk on a Red Hat Linux machine. I am able to play mp3's for music on hold when mp3s are on the Linux server, and to play streaming mp3's with Windows Media Player and Winamp on Windows using the slim server. I also have mpg123 on my Linux, apparently installed correctly, since it works for local moh. I put the

Streaming MoH on 1.4
Hi, I've looked high and low for any changes that streaming MoH needs on Asterisk 1.4 (.21), followed NerdVittle's article about it (http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=92) yet nothing worked. After creating dir stream/ and touch stream.mp3, here's my musiconhold.conf [stream] mode=mp3 directory=/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/stream stream =>

MoH WAY too loud
Hi folks! I'm having a problem where my music on hold is just blaring to my callers. I've tried several different formats (converting using mpg123 and sox) and adjusted my musiconhold.conf to use quietmp3, to no avail. Every file plays way too loud. I did notice that sox has a -v flag for adjusting volume, but danged if I can find documentation online that'll tell me what

Music on hold not initiating RTP stream?
I've been having problems getting MusicOnHold to work, so I've dumbed down my setup to as simple of a setup as I can. Asterisk 1.0.9. SIP ATA's (Sipura SPA-2002's) <SIP ATA 1> <---> <Asterisk> <---> <SIP ATA 2> Both ATA's have public IP's. No NAT'ing going on here. Reinvites are allowed so the media stream bypases Asterisk once a call
