Covad anyone ...
Has anyone done any integration work with Covad's hosted solution ? I am considering Covad's hosted solution and want to be able to use Asterisk to develop some other apps. Anyone else tried this ? how did Covad react. I know they use MGCP. Another thing, the Cisco reseller rep tells me if I have a bunch of 7960's setup for MGCP (for use with Covad) I will need to get these

RE: Cisco 7960 upgrade to SIP
I recently upgraded a Cisco 7960 to the SIP firmware, it worked fine without a "call-manager". I just put the SIP firmware and associated config files in the TFTP directory of my asterisk server so that the phone could pull the firmware off of my asterisk server via TFTP. It took me about 5 minutes maximum to get the phone working with SIP through asterisk. NO Call-manager was used in

Re: sip change? (Rich Adamson)
Hi Rich, I had to change all my nat=yes to nat=route in the sip.conf. nat=yes seems to be ignored in today's CVS. OT re: sip change?
Kind of off topic but I know CVS is the "prefered" way of upgrading, however are there such things as "stable" CVS upgrades? It seems a lot of the CVS's have a lot of devel bugs in this that I would be scared to put even near production. Just IMHO. :-) Matt -----Original Message----- From: Rich Adamson [mailto:radamson@routers.com] Sent: Friday, August 27, 2004 9:15 AM

Cisco 7914 Expansion Unit (for 7960G IP Phone) & Help With 7960's Speed-dials
Hi, Has anybody been successful in running the 7914 expansion unit for the Cisco 7960G IP phone? For anybody unaware of what the expansion unit does, it provides 14 additional buttons, with an LCD display. The idea, is that with an expansion unit (a 7960 can take upto 2 of these units), a user can either assign more speed-dial's, or can monitor line status/account status. So, you can

MGCP error for Cisco 7750 FXO card
Can anyone tell me what MGCP error that I'm getting means? The hardware is a MRP200 in a Cisco 7750 PBX. (Its a FXO blade with 2 slots, first one has a 4 port FXO card and the second has 2 port FXO card. It recognises those correctly, at least to the point of this error.) MGCP and Cisco ubr924
I've been trying to figure this one out for a while, but to no avail. I have my cisco ubr924 setup for MGCP with Asterisk as the call-agent. I have manually registered the endpoint in mgcp.conf. When I pick up the phone, I get no dialtone and debug shows errors. IOS on the ubr924 is 12.2. Any help is appreciated. from mgcp.conf: [ubr924] host=65.37.86.203 context = from-sip (just as a

As anybody managed to get working Asterisk against an MGCP Cisco gateway ? Which MGCP version should I use ? Also I recently

Cisco ATA-188 w/502 Error on CallWaiting
I have a Cisco ATA-188 with two POTS phones and latest stable cvs. In any situations with call waiting (existing connection and calling again) the second call cause both calls to drop. This is the same for "internal" extensions and from external (ZAP and SIP). It seems to be a "502 - The transaction could not be executed, because the endpoint does not have sufficient

MGCP with Cisco doesn't work
I'm trying to link up Cisco MGCP-enabled router (residential gateway) with Asterisk, and it looks like some sort of protocol mismatch, could it be MGCP 0.1 vs 1.0? Look at this (x.x.x.99 is the router, x.x.x.98 is Asterisk): MGCP read: NTFY 2 aaln/0@voip-gw1 MGCP 0.1 X: 0 O: hd from 192.168.154.99:2427MGCP read: NTFY 2 aaln/0@voip-gw1 MGCP 0.1 X: 0 O: hd from 192.168.154.99:2427Verb:

RTP stream missing the target - cisco 5300 + mgcp
Hi! I have strange problem, I hope it's just a configuration problem, but maybe not. I'm trying to make a call between a MGCP gateway and Cisco 5300 talking SIP. Everything is fine except that audio is one way (from 5300 to MGCP gateway only). It seems that during reinvite Cisco gets confused by session ID and version and excpects RTP stream on different port. The call flow on SDP

Asterisk/InterTel Axxess via MGCP? Anyone?
Hello everyone - first time poster, long time lurker. (sounds like a radio morning program, I know). I'm attempting to get my InterTel Axxess (w/v9.0 software) to play nice with my Asterisk implementation. Asterisk 1.2.6 is running on a Fedora Core 4 x86 box. I've tried getting the Axxess to talk SIP to Asterisk, but InterTel's SIP implementation is, well-let's say, incomplete.

MGCP, Asterisk & Cisco VG200
Hello: I want to receive calls from my SIP proxy and re-route them to one of the analog lines on my Cisco VG200 ia MGCP and Asterisk. Inbound SIP calls will arrive with the five digit called number preficed with an "m" by the proxy. I'd like to them match these calls against a rule like exten => _mXXXXX,1,Dial(MGCP/aaln/1@128.100.10.11) . This however results in an error.

OT: MGCP
Hello all, Sorry for the slightly off-topic issue, I need to have a capture from a network sniffer (like Ethereal for example) from a call setup with the MGCP protocol. I thought that since Asterisk now supports MGCP some of the people who develop the MGCP channel driver may have such a capture available. I need this for my MSc thesis and unfortunately, I don't have any MGCP compliant

T-1 vs channelised T-1?
OK. Now I show my ignorance. What's the difference between a T-1 and a channelised T-1? I see that Covad's voip service (formerly GoBeam) requires a channelised T-1. Then I read recently on the list that many T-1s being installed are actually HDSL....which would be not a T-1 at all...right? Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist
