upgrade RH9?
Can you upgrade RH9 to Centos, or do you have to do a complete install? Is there an iso with a .ks file on it to do a remote install?

/usr/bin/ld error on make asterisk with Fedora Core 3
I've downloaded the latest CVS as of yesterday. Zaptel and libpri compile and link OK but after issuing the "make asterisk" command I get the following: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lidn collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [app_curl.so] Error 1 make[1]: leaving directory '/usr/src/asterisk/apps' make: *** [subdirs] Error 1 Linux version is 2.6.9-1.667 gcc

Re: Upgrade install using CentOS-3.1 ISO images (Bart Schaefer)
Be curious myself as to what info you come up with on the "upgrade via ISO" and "SATA" support questions you posed. Hopefully someone on the list will help you out with a reply to the list. 3Ware Escalade 9500S controller question
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings folks, I'm currently redoing my home server as one of the hard drives in my RAID-1 array went down and I'm going to replace the lot of it with a 3Ware Escalade 9500S RAID capable card and four Seagate 200GB SATA drives. These drives are supposedly the coolest and quietest SATA drives available (better than the Maxtors I had anyway)

CentOS 4 dual boot
Another quick question- In reading the "official" release notes for EL4, I ran across this- > Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 support for SELinux uses Extended > Attributes on ext2/ext3 file systems. This means that, when a file is > written to a default-mounted ext2/ext3 file system, an extended > attribute will also be written. > > This will cause problems on systems

CentOS newbie just saying hello
Hi folks, Just a quick hello having installed CentOS on my first box - an Acer Altos G310 (P4 2.8GHz, 768MB RAM with 70GB + 300GB storage. The 300GB unit is a SATA disk which I hope to software (hardware!?) mirror - if I'm in for any major fun mirroring a SATA drive do let me know now - I think hardware mirroring is not an option (yet!?) but I haven't checked this out completely. I'm gonna kill YUM (mailing list version ;-) )
Hi all. Most of you already know about my problems (well, my computer's problems ;-) ), since we've been discussing on the forum. Hughesjr recommended me to post here, so let's see, I have my faith on you. I have a dedicated server with RH9 that I upgraded to CentOS 3.4 . Everything ok, but after the first yum upgrade and reboot I get this when I try to do a yum update: yum

Moved samba doesn't work
Moved samba (acting as a standalone system) from a RH9 system to a FC1 system. It wont authenticate the users. Here is more of the specifics: 1. Users log into a Samba PDC. 2. Login scripts setup their mappings 3. Some mappings are on the PDC (these still work) 4. Some mappings are on the standalone server. 5. The version of samba on RH9 is 2.2.7 6. The version of samba on FC1 is 3.0.4 I

Migration from RH9
Hi, I will probably have to migrate a few servers running Red Hat 9 to CentOS and I'd like to have opinions. One server to migrate is running Fedora core 4. Reason for migrating to CentOS: no more security updates available, hardware change planned anyway. Here are the services to be migrated: sendmail pop (not sure which daemon, I think it is running the default daemon in RH9) DNS

Upgrade from RH-9 to CentOS-3.1, any issues?
Greetings, I've got 4 Redhat-9 servers in a production environment and I don't feel like moving to RHEL. So I'm testing CentOS-3.1 now. So far so good. I'd like to get these servers moved over in the next month or so to a better "supported" OS. Are there any issues I should be aware of in upgrades these RH-9 boxes? Should I be able to just stick in the Centos-3.1

Just installed with Fedora 2
I just upgraded my RH9 installation to Fedora 2. To my surprise, imapd seems to be gone from the core. I noticed there are now two IMAP servers docevot and cyrus. After reading brief descriptions of both, dovecot would seem to be more compatible with my setup. Especially since I'm using mbox's. I have 2 questions. It seems like dovecot does not support mailboxes inside of a

couple basic questions
My desire to run Asterisk is finally giving me the reason to install a Linux box at home. Is RH9 the only distro that Asterisk will run on, and can anyone recommend a good source for a cheap Linux (RH9) box? For example, walmart.com has microtel boxes with no OS. Will RH9 and Asterisk run on these boxes? Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
