visp multiaccount + firewall configuration problem
Hi I have an account with mynetphone (australia), which gives me two voip (sip) accounts, which i used to have connected to a spa9000. this is behind a firewall, so on the spa9000 I would listen on another port apart from 5060. so on the firewall 5060 would go to voip1 and 5061 to voip2. I moved to asterisk (+tdm410) and the machine was also the firewall and I had no problem - well atleast it

Problem with Asterisk + TDM410 FXO
Hi I am in the middle of move a small business over from legacy PABX + PSTN lines to VOIP infrastructure. I borrowed a spa9000 to place between the PABX and the PSTN lines. I have had this going for a while (>5 months) and it has been working fine (some issues with echo and other minor things), which is why I am moving to asterisk. I bought a tdm410 with 3 fxo + fxs. The fxs is connected to

Sangoma analog cards?
Does anyone on-list have direct experience with the new analog cards from Sangoma? I'm thinking about FXOs with echo cans. Need 2-4 ports but don't want to go through another TDM400 style experience. bridging iaxtel calls to PSTN
Hello, I just started using asterisk, and have a question. I have setup two asterisk servers, A and B. A has a Digium TDM400 11B card (1 FXO and 1 FSX modules) and is connected to the PSTN. B has same, but is NOT connected to PSTN. I want to configure B to call A via iaxtel, and connect to the PSTN using A's line. How can I configure iaxtel dial plan for B in extensions.conf? I want to be

Sangoma A200D analog card with fxo's
FYI... Just installed one of the new Sangoma A200D analog pstn cards with the hardware echo canceller on a trial basis. The card has four fxo interfaces. Excellent audio quality, excellent echo cancelling, and excellent audio levels. The four pstn lines at this location are rather long analog loops that have rather long echo trails. I started with a pair of x100p's a couple of years ago,

4+ Port FXS Analog Device
I'm looking for an inexpensive way to connect 20 analog phones to asterisk. I could get a bunch of Linksys or Sipura boxes but was wondering if there is a more cost effective way? I came across the Mediatrix 1104 and even the Mediatrix 1124 but that comes out to be almost $100/port. I might as well buy inexpensive IP phone. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Waldo

Reccomendations for connecting to 3-4 PSTN lines?
Hello, I'm looking to connect Asterisk with three (four in the future) PSTN lines, and would like to get some opinions on the TDM400 Digium card, vs. sip gateways like the Mediatrix 1204, vs. other hardware solutions I'm not yet aware of. I need the ability to prioritize which PSTN lines are used for outgoing calls (I understand this can be done with the Mediatrix --

Bridged line appearance
So are there any plans for bridged line appearance support in Asterisk? The new Linksys SPA9000 supports it. A lot of other VoIP systems from Nortel, Sylantro etc. supposedly support it. Seems to me that Asterisk needs to get on the bandwagon or be relegated to call centers, specialized voicemail applications, and phone chat businesses. It's not needed for companies used to PBX's but

least sucky FXO interface?
Would anyone care to offer opinions as to the FXO interface which sucks the least :) I have an application in which it appears I must route certain calls out an analog PSTN line. Presently, I am testing an SPA-3000, but I can't seem to get the echo heard on the IP end of the call down to a non-annoying level. Any suggestions welcomed :) -Dorn

Xorcom Rapid CD for Production?
Hi All, The past day or so I've setup a new * server based upon the Xorcom Rapid ISO. It did as promised; wiped the base system, installed Debian OS, installed Asterisk with a dummy configuration. So far so good. If I could get the config from my existing * server migrated to the Xorcom box the I'd be ready to roll. Essentially, it would be the same as I have now on Fedora Core 1, but

Seeking opinions: Polycom IP330 phones?
Does anyone online have an opinion on these? I've used 500/510/6001/601 models before. Need to know if these apparently lesser models can be provisioned in the same way. Are end uers happy with them? FXOs
Hi All, I'd really like to see a show of hands with regard to people's experience with FXO interfaces. I own a few X100p cards and have had nothing but problems with them. I also took part in Sipura's beta program, for the SPA-3000. While it can be an improvement over the X100p, it presently has echo problems that make it unusable. Sipura has not acknowledged the problem ( at least

Residential router w/ QoS support?
Did anybody ever come across an affordable, residential cable/dsl router with support for QoS? The ones I've seen so far (Netgear, D-Link and W-Linx) do not seem to support it. I noticed that even email can damage a G.711 stream on an 128kbit uplink, leave alone file-sharing applications. I understand this is strictly related to *, but nevertheless of interest to many of us. Thilo

Can One FXO Support Multiple Phone Lines?
I am currently having our new office wired up with 8 PSTN lines. The guy asked me if he could wire it up such that one line had two phone numbers. I bought a Sangoma A200 with 8 FXO ports, but now I'm wondering if all I needed were 4 FXO ports. Is it possible to set up Asterisk with 2 numbers per FXO? Thanks for any help, Andrew -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

T-1 vs channelised T-1?
OK. Now I show my ignorance. What's the difference between a T-1 and a channelised T-1? I see that Covad's voip service (formerly GoBeam) requires a channelised T-1. Then I read recently on the list that many T-1s being installed are actually HDSL....which would be not a T-1 at all...right? Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist
