ADSI Programming
Hello Everyone,
About a month ago, someone put a question to the list about which ADSI
spec to purchase from Telcordia. I looked in the archives, and it
appears that this question was never answered, so I'll put it to the
list in a slightly different manner: Do I need to purchase the
Telcordia specs in order to learn how to write my own ADSI scripts? If
so, which one?
I found the Black

Newbie - getting two local phones tocommunicate would be a good start :)
Hi John,
Try adding username=5702 and username=5703 to each of the configs in
sip.conf. I recall I had this problem with the Grandstreams.

Installing Asterisk on Mandrake 10.1 Official
I have a pretty basic Mandrake 10.2 w/KDE 3.2 and I installed Asterisk-1.0.1-2mdk. I installed the source of main and contrib from ftp, so at the install time I accepted all the packages needed to be installed too.
The installation went smooth, but when I try to execute asterisk (#asterisk -vvv) I encounter few warnings I end with an error. At this point I didn't touch any conf file, I was

Anyone using the AlarmReceiver? Does it work? Mine doesn't seem to

FC4 SMP domU ?
Is anyone running FC4 SMP domU''s?
I don''t recall if I tested this before and today I noticed that I can
only bring up FC4 domU''s as UP even though vcpus = 2.
xm list and /proc/cpuinfo are in agreement :-)

Ted

How-To for FC4/Samba
Can someone point me to a step-by-step on samba w/FC4? Honestly, I'm only
trying a basic share, no rocket science. I've already a samba server on RH9
with the same clients and users trying to access a share on FC4. Logs and
testparm returns everything fine. Had SELINUX on and off. Cannot browse even
home directories.
Thanks,

Follow-Up: R on FC4
Dear List,
A few weeks ago a discussion took place regarding Fedora Core 4 and
compiling R on that platform using the new version 4 of gcc and its
gfortran compiler.
gcc was recently updated to 4.0.1 on FC4 (4.0.1-5 in Red Hat Land) so I
thought I'd give compiling R a go on my laptop which needed updating
anyway. I've had trouble using the optimisation flags I used to use
under FC3 with

Is it possible to install FC4 to my HD?
I have a Laptop with 6G HD, there are FD and CD-ROM port to external
devices. But I only have a external floppy drive, no cd-rom.
Now I boot from 1fd linux and make HD as partition, next I want to install
FC4 on this laptop.
But FC4 CD only support CD-ROM or USB memory, I tried to write diskboot.img
to /dev/hda1 with dd command, I found all files in image bootdisk.img in
/dev/hda1, but when I

High CPU with 3.0.14a in FC4
hi everyone,
I've been subscribed to the mailing lists for about 18 months to 2 years but
have never had the opportunity to post.
One of our clients has a box that is a 3Ghz Pentium 4 running FC1 and 512 MB
of memory. An upgrade was performed to FC4 [2 make use of ACL's]. We haven't
yet started to implement ACL's [or made any changes to the Samba configuration].

Re: asterisk rpms (was: Does anyone run Asterisk on FC4? with Digium's TDM40B cards)
Morning,
I've installed asterisk on FC4 and had a few problems with zaptel stuff.
Having installed it on SuSE I was able to check a few things that were
different.
When installed with the RPMS, the udev stuff gets put into the normal 50-udev
file under /etc/udev. On SuSE, it worked when the necessary zaptel section
was in a separate file name 55-zaptel.udev (the name is arbitrary,

FC4 - wine 0.9.5 - excel hangs on 'splach screen'
The system is FC4 with the latest upgrades installed. Wine is 0.9.5.
The latest wine is doing the best at running Office in a long time. Word
seems very stable. That said excel is hanging on the splash screen. This
in an old symptom that keeps re-occurring. DCOM is installed correctly.
Does anyone know what the cause of he splash screen excel is?
Thanks - Dan

Make asterisk 1.0.7 fail under FC4
After more investigation, I decided to just recompile asterisk (on my
newly upgraded Fedora core 4 system). Make dies with this error:
"No rule to make target
'usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/3.4.3/include/stddef.h"
It seems this directory is gone under FC4, and replaced by
No rule to make target 'usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.0/include/

FC4/Rails/Ruby/Apache/FastCGI wiki anyone?
I have followed a number of fast cgi tutorials to get it installed on FC 4
with ruby but not sure where I went wrong. Which is the best
FC4/Rails/Ruby/Apache/FastCGI wiki out there?
I worry that because I have tried a few now that a simple "monkey at the
keyboard" approach of going through the install may not be enough to save
myself from really diving in and understanding it all :)

Ext3 bad magic after upgrage FC1 to FC4
Dear All,
I have server with a 160G disk with one partition /dev/hde1. The PC had FC1
and everything was working fine. I decided to do an upgrade to FC4. Now I
can no longer mount that partition. I don't think anything happened to the
file system, but changes in kernel and modules due to the upgrade is now
making it inaccessible.
I tried:
mk2fs -n /dev/hde1

Xen and LVM snapshots on FC4
Hello,
I''ve tried to make Xen and LVM snapshots work with RHEL3 (upgraded
to FC4 partly, using FC4 kernel 2.6.12-1.1387_FC4, xen-2-20050522
installed from RPM). I had a problem where non-snapshot LVM images
worked, but as soon as I create a snapshot of one and tried to use that,
I would get a crash like this as soon as I booted up a Xen domain:

gnomeGUI on FC4
It seems nice that R is part of the 'walled garden' of applications specifically configured to run under Fedora Core 4 (Linux). The gnomeGUI has a separate installation routine under FC4 and yum tells me it's installed. I've even found an executable for it in /usr/lib/R/bin/exec. However, as far as I can tell, it doesn't do anything. Since the documentation is rather...

Zaptel CiscoHDLC / Fedore FC4
I am attempting to deploy a TE210P with one port configured (all 24
channels) as Cisco HDLC, currently running 2.6.11 FC4 with HDLC module
compiled.
HDLC (RAW) appears to work fine, however, using Cisco HDLC (via sethdlc &
sethdlc-new) results in no traffic being encapsulated or transmitted via the
hdlc0 interface.
Is there anybody here currently running a similar configuration on a
