FC4 and yum install; how to configure questions
I installed FC4, ran command, # yum install asterisk. A bunch of stuff happened, but can't locate .conf files. I have a list of files: /usr/share/doc/asterisk-1.2.4/configs/features.conf.sample /usr/share/doc/asterisk-1.2.4/configs/rtp.conf.sample /usr/share/doc/asterisk-1.2.4/configs/extensions.conf.sample /usr/share/doc/asterisk-1.2.4/configs/logger.conf.sample

atrpms nvidia cannot load
Hi guys - brand new 5.1 install here and quite happy - but... The nv driver did not work at all for me, fritzy stripes and dots. This is a GeForce 7300 LE which was working happily dual-head under FC6 with the livna nvidia RPMs So I looked around and it seemed like the ATRpms repo via yum was the best option for CentOS. This is what I installed, it worked great with the xorg.conf from the

Why are all repos < 5.6 listed?
Greetings all. I just enabled all repos on my system, to enable me to find a particular package. This is the first time I have noticed all the Centos repos < 5.6 being listed. Is this a new feature, to include all repos pre 5.6 now? Here's the output of the aforementioned yum command - sorry it's a little bit long: [root at karsites ~]# yum --enablerepo '*' --disablerepo

Trying to understand Suspend 2
I am trying to understand Suspend 2 and what I have to do to get it working in Centos 5. There is quite a bit for it at ATrpms: http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/hibernate-suspend2/ http://www.atrpms.net/dist/el5/kernel-suspend2/ The later is the kernel patches that they refer to at the Suspend2 website, so I don't have to recompile the kernel? I noticed that over at:

pm-utils - ATrpms updates a system package on the stable branch
I performed a clean minimal CentOS 5.2 install, fully updated the system, and then added the ATrpms repository. When I perform an update after adding the ATrpms repository, the package pm-utils is updated the the ATrpms repository. My understanding is there should not have been any updates as the stable version does not update system packages, right? "The CentOS 5/RHEL 5 repository

ATrpms repo
Tried mailing the maintainer, but didn't get a response -- anyone know what's happened to the ATrpms repo? Not only is http://atrpms.net/name/dovecot/ empty, but: http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/el6/ seems to return a 404. Some of the mirrors still have the packages, but does anyone know if they're going to continue to build 2.2.x packages? w

OT: Local Mirror problems, wrong paths to RPMs with yum update
This week I set up a local mirror for a few dists, including Centos 4.0 and 4.2, and Fedora Core 3 and 4. I'm using a script called yum-pull. For the most part I really like the script, it automates the setup of your mirrors and tries a bunch of different mirrors when it goes out to get updates, if it fails on one it tries another. It uses the usual suspects, createrepo and repoview, among

Centos 5.5 upgrade to dovecot 1.2
Hello, I am trying to upgrade dovecot from 1.0.7 (the dovecot verison in base repo) to 1.2. The installation of .rpm got from atrpms.net aborted with a dependency error : error: Failed dependencies: libpq.so.5()(64bit) is needed by dovecot-1.2.16-1_114.el5.x86_64 This is strange because the libraries are there : yum list libpq* Installed Packages libpqxx.x86_64 2.6.9-3.el5.rf installed

Centos 5 - Setting up yum for ATrpms
I think I found one of my setup problems. I followed instructions at: http://atrpms.net/install.html And now I see that the information shown there to put into yum.conf (that I put into yum.repo.d/atrpms.repo) is only for FC, not for RL5 (thus Centos 5). What do I use in my atrmps.repo to get it to access the RL5 directories?

Do I really have the right ATrpms repo?
I copied exactly where Axel provided into atrmps.repo. I have the line: atrpms.repo:baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/el5-x86_64/atrpms/stable but the rpms that are being flagged as updates pretty much all have fc5 in their names. e.g.: ---> Package mplayer-fonts.noarch 4:1.0-7.at set to be updated ---> Package mplayer.i386 4:1.0-60_r23482.fc5 set to be updated ---> Package

Can someone help me troubleshoot this. This is the output I am getting from yum update. Thank you in advance. Is ATRPMs dead?
Haven't been able to reach atrpms.net for over a week from London, UK, when i last looked for it after a couple of intervening months. Did i miss something? And if atrpms is truly defunct, where's a good place to obtain updated versions of vlc and mplayer now? thanks! - cal

yum update problem - dependancy problem
You have a conflicting package installed from repository @atrpms. You need to remove that package and/or disable that repository to get past the dependency issue. 'Skip broken' is not going to handle this situation nor will any other set of yum options. CentOS 5 ... again
At this point I don't think I can do anymore damage to my mail server but I'd like to know if anyone else is using the pre-built RPM files from ATrpms before I install them? http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-1.1.11-0_90.el5.i386.rpm http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot-sieve-1.1.6-9.el5.i386.rpm Or is there a dovecot-sieve for 1.0.7 from the rpmforge repo? I haven't found it yet but

Multiple versions of Dovecot installed
I have had to rebuild my 64-bit CentOS 5 email server and after installing dovecot rpms (using yum) I seem to have multiple versions installed: dovecot-1.1.20-1_98.el5 - from ATrpms repo dovecot-1.0.7-7.el5 - from CentOS repo dovecot-sieve-0.1.18-6.1.el5 - from ATrpms repo I have tried to install just the ATrpms version but when I do "yum install dovecot" the CentOS one always gets

lib90_cmusieve_plugin.so: undefined symbol: message_decoder_init
After upgrading our CentOS 5 box to the latest revisions last week (including Dovecot 1.1), we're seeing the following error message in the log files. Sieve was working fine with Dovecot 1.0. I have yet to turn up anything via Google for this particular error. SELinux is not logging any error messages at the moment, so I'm pretty sure that we've properly allowed all the SELinux
