Marketing Materials
The owner of my company just asked me for an Asterisk brochure. Has
anyone seen such a creature? I know of some really informative
websites, but I think a pdf would be priceless at this point.
Thanks,

IAXModem/Hylafax problem
I think I'm very close to getting IAXModem and Hylafax going, but my
current inbound hylafax logs show this:
Feb 23 10:09:37.98: [ 3638]: MODEM <Empty line>
Feb 23 10:09:37.98: [ 3638]: MODEM TIMEOUT: waiting for v.21 carrier
Two questions -
1) Does anyone know what step I missed here? (I.e. please help!)
2) Is there a document I should be working off of? Google doesn't seem

Fedora 'service asterisk start' problems
I ran into a weird one last night. If I use 'service asterisk start' I
have problems (see below). If I exclusively use 'asterisk
-vvvvvvvvvvvvc' everything works normally.
It happens like this:
1) 'service asterisk start'
2) Use asterisk normally, etc, etc - eventually change something that
requires a restart
3) Issue either a CLI 'stop now' or a 'service

TE405P vs. SoundCard problem
My Asterisk server believes that a Digium TE405P and sound are
incompatible. Basically, no matter what else I do to the machine it
terms of hardware, if the TE405P is installed, none of the
playback/background/etc commands work. MOH works fine.
So far, I have tried:
1) Seven different PCI soundcards with different chipsets. (Go go
Computer Junk Store!)
2) Disabling each and every device

Native MOH - Convert mp3 to ulaw
I'd like to use native moh instead of with mpg123... for some reason the processes never bloody die.
For native moh to not spawn an external player, I'd need to convert the default supplied moh sound files in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 to ulaw and g729 format. Anyone know of a free, easy way to convert them?
Thanks,
Doug.

OT: Good Vendor?
I realize that this isn't the biz list, so I'll make this short.
If you have a good vendor of IP hardware that you'd recommend someone
check out, please send me their info off-list. My e-mail is
'bmcdowell@federalprotection.com'. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Orative
Has anyone heard anything about these guys? Anyone seen anything like
this?
http://www.orative.com/solutions.php
It's seems very cool, basically uses GPRS as a digital overlay on your
mobile phone for additional functionality such as presence and IM though
I'm sure they have some other functionality (voicemail access, call
announce etc) coming down the pipeline.
Any thoughts,

I personally use Snapanumber $30 or there abouts (after trialing a few
other TAPI solutions and finding them sub-par) and think it's a great
product but interesting to see how more people are expecting
desktop/phone integration applications.

OT: Mobile voip - WCell
Not related to asterisk: but I figured someone here would have used them
before?
Has anyone tried http://www.wcell.com/ab/ZnJpZW5kLzEwNjI= yet?
Looks like they have a voip app for your mobile handset sending voice
calls out over your data service or wifi for 1c per minute calls both in
the USA and internationally.
Wondering if i should sign up with them for my trip to Australia

Alec Saunders post about Mashable Telco's
Interesting read in Alec Saunders blog today.
http://saunderslog.com/2007/03/01/mashable-telcos/
Thought it may interest some people on this list.
As food for thought, why it is that ITSP's haven't come up with more
'interesting' voice applications? When asterisk first became available I
thought it was the beginning of seeing really neat applications, think

Skilled API consultant required - preferably with Salesforce.com intergration
Hi all,
I was just on the phone with a B2C company in Australia who are looking
to integrate an Asterisk solution with their Salesforce.com CRM
platform.
They are looking for a consultant/team to provide the following
functionality
* Complex IVR
Eg can interface via API into Salesforce for customer service
interaction and product initiation.
* Call centre
Eg basic queues,
