Kernel packages and 3rd party kernel modules
Hi,
I'd like to come back to this topic. We've discussed this before on IRC
but there's still no acceptable solution implemented.
3rd party kernel-modules are build against the official Red Hat kernels,
to make them work with the TaoLinux/CentOS kernels there are specific
requirements:
+ kernel RPM package should provide the same version/release
+ kernel version/release should

That is a very good questions and I personally veel very sad that Red Hat
chose to do this.
RHEL5 (and CentOS 5) are based on development done on Fedora Core 6. Red
Hat started off with Fedora Core 6 when creating

yum cannot find bittorent rpm at dag
I am trying to get the x86_64 isos of CentOS-5.2. I wish to use

RH 8.0, Mozilla and help.start() - Deja Vu All Over Again....
Hi all,
In the continuing process of dealing with the upgrades to Mozilla under
RH 8.0 Linux (present stable release is 1.3) and as a result, the
"breakage" of R's help.start() function, which is a java applet based
search engine, I wanted to point out to folks some key points of
information.
If you are upgrading to Mozilla version 1.3 under RH 8.0 from an older
version, even

yum, dag and xawtv
Hi,
I'm a newbie with CentOS. Actually, with this generation Linux. I used
it back in the middle 90's (Debian and Slackware) but migrated over to
FreeBSD. I got tired of the dependency nightmares and wanted a system
that "just worked". The FreeBSD ports system did just that for me. I
HATE doing the rpm soup thing. RPM finders are nice but I'd rather just
use something

Thanks,

I?ve just discovered Speex, and sorry if this isn?t the right place to
ask this, but I found no other mailing list (some projects have a
"users" and a "developers" list separately, I guess this isn?t the
case with Speex. If it is, please let me know).
First, how I got here:
