Im glancing through my email from the mailing list and noticed a lot of talk about centos3.4. When will it be released officially. I have read somewhere that RH is releasing RHEL 4 pretty soon....Im in no need to upgrade because my system is rather stable..just trying to get a idea of what is going on....I know i should be keeping up with the list...but it gets complicated at times. I've downloaded CentOS, baked CDs and start installing it on one old 450MHz AMD K6 based box with 392MB of RAM. To my regret, CentOS refused to load (to be installed). The message on the screen was something along this line: "Your architecture is not supported" I am sure that this is NOT CentoOS fault. It seems to me that RH does NOT support K6 CPU. Why is RH using such an outdated version of OpenSSL ? I understand that they may have back-ported the fix but I just tried installing Net::SSLeay on a Centos 3.3 box and it wouldn't install, saying that the openssl version was old and suggested I get 9.7b or later? I switched my file server's hard disks from a p-2 350 to a p-3 deley 1.1 ghz. I ran kudzu and it detected the new nic and unconfigured the old one. I may have messed up the static ip assignment because hte system is not able to do anything on the network. How do i check the ipaddress asignment and also ensure the proper linksys LNE-100TX driver is loaded? thanks. William -- Computer

Well that didn't work. I got a bootable dvd out of it but the centos installed did not detect the media as having the installation files. It asked for a cd instead of recognizing the dvd. Winiso cannot handle dvd's..:( Anyone have a way to make the centos installer realize all its files are on the dvd instead of looking for three cd's? -- My "Foundation" verse:
