Can I interoperate with public PSTN gateways ?
Apologies if this is an FAQ, I wasn't able to find an answer googling:
Will any of the public PSTN/VoIP gateway services (Vonage, Packet8 etc)
interoperate with * ?
I'd like to deploy a box which provides PBX service for analog handsets,
and handles inbound/outbound calls via both analog PSTN lines, and,
say Packet8 VoIP service. I understand that I can do this by connecting

sip registration send out by asterisk
Hi friends,
I've noticed that first register message sent by * always get rejected by
the destination sip server. Then * sends a second registration message (
with Autherization section, and that get accepted by the destination host).
Why is this ?
Isnt there a way to tell * to send with Autothorization message the first
attempt ?
Asterisk sends this first

Using ICH for outbound when * is behind NAT
I have recently set to * to play with and I'm getting the hang of it..
I've seen various posts about problems where the SIP clients are behind
NAT but I anted to ask a slightly different question.
At the current CVS can the * SIP client register with a SIP provider
(such as ICH) when the * box itself is behind a NAT. I have an ICH
account which I can configure fine on an ATA 186 using

11.21,2 : how to transfer to Jolly Roger ?
I'd like to transfer all my pesky telemarketing calls to Jolly Roger .
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/25/fashion/a-robot-that-has-fun-at-telemarketers-expense.html
In the middle of a call I'd hit some DTMF sequence, which would dial
Jolly Roger and transfer the call after Jolly Roger answers.
But blindtransfer requires an extension after you hear "transfer". And I
don't

wellgate registration 3802
I have a new wellgate 3802 unit. I have not gotten it to
register with asterisk 1.2.6.
My proxy setting is the correct IP in the 3802.
My security config is 1001/1001 and 1002/1002 on the wellgate (simple at
this time).
My sip.conf has:

type=friend
dtmfmode=inband
username=1001
secret=1001
host=dynamic
canreinvite=yes
nat=no
context=wellgate

Is there a way to edit a specific line in a function (e.g: doing function->text->edit->function) ?
Hello,
Let's say we have the following function:
foo <- function(x)
{
line1 <- x
line2 <- 0
line3 <- line1 + line2
return(line3)
}
And that we want to change the second line to be:
line2 <- 2
How would you do that?
The two ways I know of are either to use
fix(foo)
And change the function.
Or to just write the function again.
Is there

How to limit IAX calls
The SIP channels have a "call-limit" parameter (which is badly
documented and I haven't tested yet)
How can I have the same behaviour for IAX channels? I can't see anything
related to it.
Ah, I'm using Asterisk 1.2.13... maybe there is something in the 1.4
versions... but I can't change to 1.4 right now because of MFC/R2

continuous independent variable in lme
Dear All,
I am writing to ask a clarification on what R, and in particular lme, is
doing.
I have an experiment where fly wing area was measured in 4 selection lines,
measured at 18 and 25 degrees. I am using a lme model because I have three
replicated per line (coded 1:12 so I need not use getGroups to creat an
orederd factor).
The lines are called: "18"; "25";

Graphing lines of different lengths
Hello all.
I need to graph multiple lines of different lengths on the same graph. When I try to add lines I get an error due to different lengths. The only thing I could find when reading up on it was that 'if the data are inputted separately they must be of the same length'.
Could someone please let me know how to input the data together?
Thanks for any help,
Jordan

Aastra 480 i
Getting "no service" display on aastra 480i. Sip debug shows an "unathorized" blub when the aastra tries to register.
Some reading indicates that 1.4 firmware wants aastra.cfg and mac.cfg in /tftpboot/. There are none.
Anyone have basic config files? Or can point me to a good link? All links I have tried, that purport to have config files, are either dead or error out.

coreutils-4.5.3-28 causing duplication?
Here's a bit of a strange one. I hunted through the ocfs-users archives,
but didn't see any mention of this, so here goes...
Using coreutils 4.5.3-27 on RHAS 3, the utilities perform as expected
against non-OCFS volumes:
$ rpm -q coreutils
coreutils-4.5.3-27
# cat a 3 line test file. Works as expected
$ cat /var/tmp/file
line1
line2
line3
# copy that file. Works as expected
$ cp

Textilize problems with line breaks
I''m having a problem formatting some text. I have a textarea that I
input my text into, which will then be put into an e-mail and sent out.
The problem I am having is when there is a single line break.
Multiple line breaks work fine (hitting enter twice), but single line
breaks don''t seem to work properly.
Take the following input:
Line1.
Line2.
Line3.
Line4.
