RE: 5, 000 concurrent calls system rollout question
Isn't it ridiculous that Hammer charges an arm and a leg for any work they do. For systems as large as that one, we just setup a seperate one, connect them back to back and run automated script to burn it in. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com]On Behalf Of William Boehlke Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2006

Re: 5, 000 concurrent calls system rollout question
Why is using ulaw or alaw an unlikely scenario? I wouldn't use anything but ulaw\alaw. The Bells can compete on price and will if they have to. Where they CAN'T compete is quality. If there were something better than 711, I'd offer that. Well, there is 722, but not many things support it. ---- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ----- Original

2 plots sharing axis / combining factors
Dear R users, - Is it possible to produce a figure with 2 plots that they share one of the axis, e.g., the y-axis? I did not succeed by setting mai[4] <- 0. Is there a simple way? - How could I convert 2 factor variables in a single factor variable which is the combination of the other 2. Example: lith: a factor 2 levels "ca", "ma" sp: a factor with 2 levels,

advice sought on possible rollout
Hi all, one of our clients have three branch offices currently connected by ADSL lines. they are using Cisco 827-4V units with the FXS ports connected to their aging PBX units. I am thinking of installing an * server in the head office, maybe with an analogue FXO card connected to the PSTN so field officers in Melbourne can call sydney for a local call price. The question is - what Digium

Production-environment AD rollout?
Hey, all. I've used Samba a lot, but took a job about four years ago during which time I've only used it for one-off projects. Looks like I might take a new job, though, and I'll get to call the shots. I'd *love* to have Samba with AD running things, and just have Windows in-place as clients (possibly with Exchange... can't win 'em all). Is this feasible in this day and

So sorry! was: Re: EL 6 rollout strategies? (Scientific Linux)
As the OP for this thread, it saddens me to see that the thread I started has now been used as a forum for behavior of the worst kind seen in professional circles. I'm a longtime user of CentOS and merely wanted to know of users' past experiences transitioning between SL and CentOS. My first experience with CentOS was as a transition from Whitebox to CentOS, and the process was as

Which distribution to rollout
we are running an older version of RH (7.3) - and I am getting concerned that I may need to migrate off of it - but I dont know what I should move to. Trying to formulate ideas before it becomes a 'got to do it now' scenario. I have some reservations about fedora - I just dont know how stable it is for a production server (our services are mainly samba/ldap/ntp/ssh/rsync/clamav) - we

Trunk is not released
Hi! I have this little problem here and i really don't know how to solve it. This is the scenario: I've setup a IVR, using my mobile phone I call my asterisk server and after pressing "1" the call is directed to my softphone at extension 100. The phone at extention 100 will ring until a certain time, and my mobile phone will cut off due to no one picking up my call. However,

TE411P Really Bad Echo ORION
The Orion echo canceller is just ok. The Tellabs units work just as well if you don't mind 10 mins of soldering. I have the orion running with an adit 600 and a TE110P. Echo cancel is fairly good, but I have loads of problems with DTMF digits. -Darren ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com

EL 6 rollout strategies? (Scientific Linux)
I was wondering what feedback might be offered by the CentOS community on their experiences using Scientific Linux? I'm a long-time Centos user, and am basically happy with CentOS. I understand there are delays getting EL 6 out. We have been long anxious to roll out EL 6 as soon as it's ready, but our time window for rollout is looming and we will need to act. Breeze to set up, too. To monitor and transfer to SIP/1000 / ext 1000: 1. Insert exten => 1000,hint,SIP/1000 into your default context (the context the extension is in) 2. In the monitoring phone's web interface, click Function Keys, pick a key, change it to Destination and type in SIP/1000. Once you submit the form it will change to a SIP URL, that's OK. 3. There is no step 3.

5,000 concurrent calls system rollout question
Hi, we are currently considering different options for rolling out a large scale IP PBX to handle around 3,000 + concurrent calls. Can this be done with Asterisk? Has it been done before? I really would like an input on this. Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Does anyone test Asterisk 1.2.X + bristuff-0.3.X and TDM card? Hey, all, Running Wine 20050111 under SuSE 9.2 (SuSE 9.2 package from sourceforge.net). Wine was working fine until about an hour ago; I had several programs installed and working and did not have this error (afaik). Then I decided to install Septerra Core ( http://www.lith.com/sites/septerra/ , don't download the demo, though; it is of no use in debugging, because the demo install does

DTMF's indescipherable, but voice clean!
After many hours today thinking that I had placed a bug into my dialplan, I realized that for some reason DTMF tones are simply not making it into asterisk! Calling into my pbx transmits crystal-clear audio in both directions. But dialing DTMF's from pstn->pbx is unsuccessful, while pbx->pstn works fine. The tones simply don't make it through. Tiny brief fragments are all. Please

Installing the none commercial intel g729 codecsinto Asterisk@Home 2.2?
Thanks but this is for a test, I didn't buy the first one as it's a non commercial installation. I'm trying to test bandwidth etc so I need to try out how 4 of them handle the link simultaneously, I just don't know how to add a second test license. RE: 5, 000 concurrent calls system rolloutquestion
I don't think they are doing it with one Asterisk box. They did say "one rack of servers". Well, that might mean up to 50 computers if they are using blade servers. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com]On Behalf Of John Todd Sent: Thursday, February 02, 2006 10:21 PM To:
