Skype + Asterisk
Has anybody ever integrated Skype with Asterisk? If you have, which
software would you recommend to accomplish such a task? ChanSkype? And how
reliable are the calls? Did the DTMF tones work? Thanks in advance.

One of my user is praising Skype!!!
I cannot figure out anymore what I can improve!
This users sip show peers is jumping from 65 msec to 1800 all the time.
Of course his voice quality is like a morse code with dashes or dots of
connection time.
The next minute he calls me via Skype and it works fine !!!! What
indicates that there is no fault on his Internet connection!!!
He is using his

Proposed change to HowTos/Skype
In the section for CentOS-5, it would be nice if the following
alternative method for running Skype on CentOS-5 were presented:
You can download a statically linked version of Skype which will work
in CentOS-5 from
http://download.skype.com/linux/skype_static-2.1.047.tar.bz2
I think it's a little bit silly that the first recommendation for
running skype on CentOS-5 is to install a new

PSGw 2.0 Skype<>SIP gateway
Hello,
I bought a copy of this software in the hope of bridging Skype into my
* box. It sort of works but the audio is all distorted and there's huge
latency. Does someone have this working well with their * server?
According to the wiki someone does, but I don't know who. I'm needing
advise on what to fiddle with to get it working correctly.
Thanks

Asterisk compare with Skype
Hi All,
I face some problems when I try to introduce Asterisk to my customers /
friends.
They are not convince as they are currently using Skype and asking me
what is/are the different between this two.
Does anyone in the community can provide such a comparison chart?
What's your opinion ?
Thanks and Regards,

Skype for Asterisk, Skype For SIP
Hi,
I'm trying to integrate Skype and Asterisk but I'm only interested in these 2 things:
1) allow any Asterisk SIP extension to call any Skype "user". I do not need to call landlines via Skype.
2) allow Internet Skype "users" to call my Asterisk PBX Skype "user" and route the call to a specific Asterisk SIP extension.
At first, I thought it would be

Skype's no-redistribution policy
Hello:
Skype for Linux version 4 has recently been released. An RPM package has
been made, and it's mentioned in the Wiki:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Skype#head-
a08dbc518378653842007a2eec37bc32e13c0bd0
However, Microsoft claims to prohibit redistribution of Skype
(http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/legal/terms/tou/ , subsection 4.2).
My feeling is that the Wiki shouldn't mention

Skype purchased by Ebay 2.6 Billion
Good news for service providers in my opinion, Ebay will likely start
alienating Skype users like they did with Paypal users.
"SkypeSucks.com" domain already taken, shucks....

Setting up skype
As I have no friends and no life I thought that I would set up my
asterisk server with Skype.
1) Paid the $, got the licence, built and installed
2) create a business skype account (called company "foo")
3) created a member of the business called "bar"
4) updated the skype conf file
5) restarted asterisk

skype on 5.7
Earlier last year I had a 5.7 system running with skype. It worked
fine. Later last year I had to reinstall my entire system. I didn't
install skype then. Yesterday I tried to find a version of skype to use
on 5.7, but couldn't find one on skype.com; there's no version for
RH/CentOS 5.7. Does anyone know where a working skype can be found?
Thanks.

I/) Settings for Skype
I've managed to get Skype set up and working. I can hear the other
person talking, but she can't hear me. During a conversation, I tried
what I thought to be all possible settings in both the "Volume Control"
application and in Skype itself. But no joy.
To make matters more puzzling, I had skype working on this same machine
last year using CentOS 5.6... or maybe it was

Skype on CentOS 6.5
Hey Y'all,
About a week ago my Skype installation stopped working. I can start it up
but I can't log on. Does this have something to do with the recent update
to LibC? Is there a repo som where that has the latest version of Skype
for CentOS 6.5?
When I go to the Skype web site I see that there is a version several
versions newer available for RPM based Linux but that one won't
