Excellent! Your solution is absolutely easier, and IT
WORKS! After following your instructions, "This Land"

With your permission, I will write up an FAQ and give
you the credit.

Alternative architecture CentOS 3 builds?
Hi there.
Although RHEL 3 is available for several different architectures,
CentOS appears to only be available for the i386 architecture. Are
alternative architecture rebuilds outside the scope of the CentOS
project, or is there some other specific reason for that?
If one wanted to rebuild CentOS for, let's say the AMD64
architecture, would that be a difficult process, or is it just

Signing key for recent x86_64 CentOS-3 updates
(reposting 'cause I sent the last one from a non-subscribed address)
Hi there.
I tried "yum update"ing my x86_64 CentOS-3 box today, but the
packages won't install and yum claims I don't have an appropriate
signing key. I've been happily doing updates all along (last time
was Oct. 12) with no trouble.
The key ID used to sign the x86_64 packages is 219180cddb42a60e

iproute2 and kernel 2.2.x NAT
Hi there.
I''m trying to implement NAT on a 2.2 kernel using iproute2 according
to Appendix C of the IP Command Reference that comes with iproute2.
We''re also moving to a multiple uplink configuration which
complicates things a bit.
The kernel is 2.2.27-rc2, built with the various advanced routing
options (except for large routing tables) turned on. It seems to be
working

more about: migration center
John,
I did not hear back from you right away. Maybe doing
all the combinations is too big a job for one person.
It might work if we split them up.
I could do these two:
RedHat 9 -> reinstall CentOS-3.1
RedHat 9 -> live update to CentOS-3.1
I am volunteering for these because I already have
RedHat 9 and CentOS-3.1 CD's.
The only rub is on Saturday I go on vacation, and at

Mounting Netware Volumes
I have one last RH 7.3 system that I want to convert to CentOS 4, but I
can''t find the ncpfs utilities that I used to use to mount Netware
shares.
Has support been removed from the 3.x and 4?

XF86Setup
Hello.
I am looking for the famous XF86Setup command used on RedHat 7.1 (for
XFree86) but I didn't find it on CentOS 3.1.
Did it change into something else ? Else how can I configure my monitor,
mouse, video card settings ?
Same questions for starting the hardware material configurator. How can I
force it to run ? I know that it runs automatically at boot when we change a
card or device, but

There is an even easier way -- tell cron to apply YUM
updates every day.

Security: should I be concerned?
Two things have been weighing on my mind regarding security issues.
The first is that when I downloaded the CentOS 4.1 ISO images, I could
not get the sums to match even using different downloads from different
mirrors. I decided that that I was doing something wrong and decided to
trust the images. So far no regrets. But I am concerned that I get it
right the next time. I thought I had read

Shockwave Flash player for CentOS
Hey,
I am using CentOS-3 as a desktop distribution. With
the exception of fewer red hats and some different
logos, it looks exactly like RedHat 9 to me.
The problem is some web sites do not work right, as
there is no Shockwave Flash player and Java support
seems to be a problem. For some web sites, I have to
used Windows.
I prefer not to download and install something that

yum update
Just installed fresh copy of 3.3 from isos. When I run "yum update" I am
getting an error when trying to install updates:
"Could not find GPG key necessary to validate....."
I am sure I have missed a posting on this issue but have not been able to
find it.
How do I get & load correct GPG key?
Thank you, Beth
