Anyone using verizon fios ftth for analog voice? Any echo?
Hello All,
I was wondering, is anyone using verizon's fios going into a zaptel 4
port card?
If so, has anyone experienced echo issues at all?
I am under the assumption that echo issues should be minimal on a ftth
connection, but want to confirm if this is the case.
I have some customers with nasty echo and fios is an option, but if it's
not likely to solve anything, would end up just

TDM04B & FIOS No Hangups Often
Hello all, I am having a big issue that i just cant get fixed for a
while now and its causing me lots of grief. It seems like since we got
FIOS installed (including switching to fios phone lines which are
supposed to be the same on our end) i am having massive problems with
asterisk not hanging up dead calls for days, even weeks if i dont catch
it. It slowly builds up randomly not ending a call

Upgrading to Verizon FIOS from Verizon DSL - Linux machine as router/Gateway/LAN server]
Greetings,
A long time ago I setup a Linux machine as a Gateway/LAN Server using
Verizon DSL as the ISP.
I used the following HOWTO as the guide - DSL HOWTO For Linux:

Is there something comprable for Verizon FIOS?
My Gateway machine runs Fedora.
For a new server, I'm considering setting up a CentOS machine, while still

Rsync with SSH through Verizon FIOS Firewall
Hello there everyone. ?I'm trying to set up a server that will "push" via rsync every night to a server in my home. ?The verizon firewall is quite robust, and it makes connecting a bit tricky. ?Does anyone have any tips on how I might set this up?
Thanks!

Version FIOS MWI Detection - asterisk-1.6-beta7
I'm trying to get the Telco MWI recognition working in asterisk-1.6-beta7. I'm told that it's supposed to work provided
my telco support FSK MWI signalling.
I have Verzon FIOS. I believe I have FSK MWI signaling as I can hear the standard stutter tone when I pick up a live
handset in front of my asterisk connection.
I have the Verizon line attached to a TDM400 card, port 4.

One Way Delay in Audio Over Analog
I have been trying to track down the cause/fix for a problem and I am out of
ideas... I am hoping one of you can point me in the right direction.
The symptom is that when a calls is placed from an internal extension
through an analog line to a number on the pstn the caller can hear the
callee but the callee can not hear the caller for as long as ten seconds.
The problem appears to happen fairly

TDMoE implementation suggestions
I have a T400P in my main building M and am going to put asterisk boxes in
two buildings A & B. I already have our wan on fiber running between the
buildings (including some extra strands) and the distance is beyond straight
Ti distance so I would need csu... to use copper. It occurred to me that I
could use TDMoE - and it may be less costly. My assumption is that the best

Asterisk on Dynamic IP to a SIP extension
Verizon has put another good third party DSL supplier out of the DSL business. Their mindset is to kill the competition and then kill DSL and copper althogether in FIOS areas.
So am soon losing my static IP and I need to prepare for the change. I currently have Asterisk running using, besides local extensions, a remote SIP extension in another state. In the new configuration both Asterisk and

Semi-OT: Use T.38 ATAs to Extend fax lines
Greetings.
I have a scenario I would like some advice on. I have a 100,000 square
foot building that we will be moving some work crews into. It has
offices on each end of the building and a fiber line between them. I
currently have an asterisk 1.2 system in place and about 30 phones. My
problem is they want a few fax machines out in the warehouse area where

before last update to 6.6, i could configure connection, now i can

Re: samba Digest, Vol 45, Issue 29
You really meant 300 _M_bps as the upper bound according to Enterasys.
My switches are from Enterasys too. After a firmware updates I get about
722 Mbps both ways. The client's disk drive (Maxtor 250 GB) can't read or
write faster.
If you don't get transfer rates in the immediate neighbourhood of the
read/write
speeds of your client's disk drives, then your network setup (hardware

bge drivers does not work for 3COM 3C996-SX / 3C996B-T
I'm experiencing similar problems with a 3C996-T under 4.8-REL.
In particular, connecting a 4.8-REL machine to a 5.1-REL machine leads
to some interesting situations: I can do simple pings across the link,
but ssh fails, and heavy pings crash the 4.8 machine. Similarly
changing the interface configuration with ifconfig tends to crash the
4.8 machine (mtu, link0, up/down, etc). The

Using Asterisk with fiber optic
Hi, I'd like to use PSTN and analogic telephone with a Asterisk server which
works on a LAN connected to the outside with fiber optic, on which voice
stream passes too. Do I need some particular solution, some particular card
to make it works or I just need a Digium or similar fxo card?
Thanks,
Bob

Anyone know anything about VoiceWing?
Hi folks,
Verizon hand just installed FIOS to the side of my house. Anyone know
anything about their VoiceWing offering? Is is a SIP offering? Their
"technical" staff can only tell me that it's a VoIP service.
