ZAP bchan and dchan HELP!!
We have install a DS3 with 28 DS1's we have an Adtran MUX breaking out
the DS1's, we are trying to setup the system with 2 dchannels for each 4
DS1's.
Everything looks fine when modprobe zaptel and wct4xxp and ztcfg -vvvvvv
but when I asterisk asterisk it says:

PRI - DS3 Calls Dropped
I have a customer installation with an Adtran DS3 mux. The DS1's go into my Asterisk servers that run IVR/Call recorders. The DS3 provider is Qwest, and they tell me that they routinely drop the DS3 service to redundant back-up's and that this is a common practice that happens thousands of times to DS3 lines daily across the US without any service interruptions. They say that the

DS3 capacity calls using asterisk
Hi All,
We are trying to implement a DS3 capacity calls (672 concurrent calls) using
asterisk server. I wanted to ask are there any compatible DS3 cards with
asterisk? I tried searching a lot but could find DS3000P from digium but
unable to get this product. Does anybody have any idea of having any DS3
card in asterisk box so as to handle around 600 calls?
Thanks
Sandesh

DS3 (T3) Card for Asterisk?
Is there a DS# (T3) card that will work with asterisk? OR a card that
supports more that 4 T1's per card?

Port density: DS3 cards?
Obviously, there are no DS3 TDM cards that are currently compatible
with Zap channels. (or are there?)
Does anyone know of an inexpensive DS3 card that could perhaps be
used with Asterisk if one were to try to port the Zap drivers to such
a card? PCI, of course, would be the bus of choice.
I think there are quite a few discouraging comments to be made on
that question. Firstly, most

ISDN PRI No Audio
Our setup:
We have a DS3 from Global Crossing terminating into a Adtran MX2800 M13
mux. From there, groups of 4 T1's run into T410P digium cards to 7
individual servers. Each trunk is configured as ISDN PRI, B8ZS/ESF,
D-channel being chan 96 with B-channels of 1-95 (we're using NFAS). The
D channel is up and there are no alarms. We see the connection on the
console from the

offtopic - channel banks
hi,
i have some newbie questions about channel banks. i have an adtran
act-1241 sitting around. it accepts D4 modules, and it contains a number
of e&m cards.
first of all, how does this thing work? a t1 contains 24 channels, and i
noticed that the channel bank has space for 24 cards. what do these
cards do? what are their outputs? the ones that are in there have some
outputs on the front

ILEC Interconnect
Hello Everyone,
We are looking to interconnect with a local ILEC over an OC-n transport layer.
They basically gave us two options in terms of mapping the SONET to the DS3:
* VT1.5s mapping
* DS1s mapping
The second option is quite clear. We would MUX the connection, and plug
the lines into qaud t1 cads etc... The tech mentioned that with the second
option we would also need a DACS to convert

Multiple Digium cards with one NFAS trunkgroup
Hi list,
Ive got a server with 6 ports on it (4+2 port card) we have a DS3 delivering
all voice DS1's to us. Carrier has a trunkgroup for the first 8 span (we
only have the first 6 plugged in right now). Everything works fine until we
fail the primary D channel (D's are on 24,48) the secondary then picks up
and outbound calls do not work, if we reboot Asterisk the D on 48 comes up
and it

North American voice BRI - Informal survey
Hi, folks:
I remain intrigued by the gap in BRI implementation between North
America and Europe, and I wanted to get feedback from the list members
on the matter. I'm seriously considering making the leap in our office.
In Europe, the idea that an office that does not have enough lines to
justify PRI would use analog lines is perceived as technologically
backwards, and yet that's what

NFAS Not Passing Audio on B-chan 48,72,96
I have NFAS setup on several quad port T1 cards (Sangoma).
It mostly works well with the exception that calls coming in on channels
48,72, and 96 have no audio. I tried removing these channels from
zapata.conf with hopes that the channels would not come up or be used.
Now I get "Ring requested on unconfigured channel".
How can I busyout these these channels so that incoming

Big practical systems
I don't want to start the "How many calls can Asterisk handle?" discussion
or "How many angels can stand on the point of a pin?" discussion either.
But can anyone contribute some practical knowledge of systems that take in
channel bank T1s or DS3s from "far away", and process the calls?
I am looking for real world, been there, done that, or "check the

E3 Card on Asterisk ?
Hi
Please check out this product
http://www.sangoma.com/products/hardware_products/data_networking/a301.html
Does it work on Asterisk or Freeswitch ?
Do Telcos provide an E3 connection ?
One of our customers had an inquiry for terminating 6000 calls
simultaneously. I want to do some homework before taking it further with
him. If I use E1 lines, I will need 6000 / 30 = 200 E1 lines, which does

Asterisk Cluster
Hello Everyone,
I must deploy an asterisk system that can support
at least 500 pstn outbound calls.
It's a challenge as it's the first time i'm gonna build such a large
system.
I want to have your advice on hardware, software and so on . What i have in
my plan is a cluster of servers with quad PRI cards.
I will appreciate your advice.
Thank you all .

Beyond T1
All,
This may be a stupid question, but here it is...
What interface gives the most density? Do I top out at T1's? For instance, 4
t1's to the Digium Quad span t1 card. Is there an interface available for T3
or DS3?
Thanks,
Chris

PRI Issue - Calls being rejected with unacceptable channel
Hey all. We have a DS3 circuit with GBLX split off into 7 systems with
a 4 port sangoma card (A104D) in the first 2 systems, and digium T410P
cards in the other 5. GBLX numbers their spans from 0 to 3 instead of
1-4 and we have a NFAS configuration with the d-channel on chan 96. All
of our systems are running 1.0.7 for stability reasons (and no good time
for maintaince, the entire platform

how to get caller ID
i cannot see caller ID of the call originated from outside zap channel.
i hv configured both zapata.conf and extensions.conf.
i m right now in india
i think asterisk only supports Bellcore enable caller ID.
so is it the same bug of BT caller ID problem in UK?
or it is the bug of my asterisk configuration?
i hv enabled callerID from my TELCO.

FX CallerID
Follow this diagram:
Many POTS lines <-> Many Channel Banks <-> Mux <-> DS3 <---cloud---> DS3 <->
demux into T1s <-> Many Asterisk's
If someone calls into 1 of the asterisk boxes (via PRI or VoIP), and I send
the call back down the line above to a POTS phone, who will provide caller
id to the POTS line? I think its called FSK signaling.
Anyone know

VoIP Gateway
hello,
I would like to realize a VoIP Gateway, with some extra-features. The
aim is to get the phone number of the caller, to make research in our
database, and to put him automatically through the good employee. The
company is equipped with a VoIP network :
software :
- PSTNgw
- Ohphone
- OpenGatekeeper
hardware :
- Quicknet phonejack
- gateway : Voicetroniw OpenLine4
