Happy new year!
The last 3 months my asterisk has run perferct.
But after I have set 15 new SNOM 190 phones on it dies every hour.
Nothing to se in CLI ore in the log.
It dies with exit status 139
Is there anyone who has an idea of what is wrong - ore any tip on how
to test.

asterisk at 100% CPU, 1000's of log files
Hi All,
Twice now in the past few weeks I've walked into the office to find that
our 1.2.24 Asterisk process is sat at 100%, and that hundreds of
thousands of log files in /var/log/asterisk exist, all at 312 bytes,
containing:

"Rotated Lat-Lon" projection in mapproj
Hi,
I'm trying to plot a field obtained from the atmospheric model WRF-NMM
which uses a "Rotated Lat-Lon? map projection.
The WRF documentation mentions that:
? Rotates the earth's lat/lon grid such that the intersection of the
equator and prime meridian is at the center of the model domain.
? Within the rotated framework the grid spacing is constant, but in an
earth-relative

read permission on rotated logs
Maybe I'm missing something here but doesn't logrotate have the 'postrotate ... endscript' block for its configuration files where you can run any command you desire?

How to disable event_log?
Hi,
how can I disable event_log in order to reduce
hard disk activity?
I can't find any hints in conf files.
Must I hack the source code or even use brutal
methods like creating a dir called event_log in
the log dir, in order to prevent asterisk from
creating an event_log file? (Just chmod a-w event_log does not
work, unfortunately.)
Thanks for any hints!
Roger.

Bug#435443: logcheck: have logtail handle rotated logs by itself
Package: logcheck
Version: 1.2.58.0
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
The attached patch is the diff from current svn trunk to my svn branch
zugschlus200707. It introduces a new binary package logtail2 with a
new binary logtail2 which enhances logtail substantially. logtail2 can
process rotated logs internally, which makes the code inside logcheck
and other programs that use logtail2 easier to

asterisk logger - urgent!!!
Hi,
Since yesterday my Asterisk 1.2.3 is displaying the following message every few seconds
>Asterisk Event Logger restarted
>Rotated Logs Per SIGXFSZ (Exceeded file size limit)
This causes my log files (verbose, queue_log) to become huge with lots of logger rotate messages, but I don't know which files is exceeding size limit, since even if I delete all log files I still get this

Hi,
I'm trying to use Gmail-style conversation view, as described in

"virtual/INBOX" folder and that works fine to some degree, but the problem
is that every few seconds or so (probably when new message is delivered or

read permission on rotated logs
When logs (e.g. /var/log/maillog) are rotated (e.g. to
/var/log/maillog-YYYYMDD) is there a way via systemd or whatever to
assign read permission to a specific group?
Right now, for example -
ls -l maillog*
-rw------- 1 root root 3105240 Mar 13 22:04 maillog
-rw------- 1 root root 1079031 Feb 24 04:39 maillog-20190224

logtail ignoring information in rotated logs
Hi gang,
While writing a script that uses logtail, I noticed that logtail assumes
nothing interesting happened between its last invocation and the
rotation, which means that exciting bits of data could be lost.
This seems a bit dodgy (correct me if I'm wrong about how it works!) so
I made a dodgy patch to logtail that checks for the existence of
$logfile.0, which on Debian seems to always be

Add the following line to /etc/logrotate.d/syslog, e.g. after sharedscripts:
create 640 root somegroup

SV: Manage 'full' log file
Thanks for the quick response!
I read about logrotate at voip-info.org but I didn't quite understand it. I'm no asterisk/linux expert unfortunately.
First of all. What exactly does happen when I run:
/usr/sbin/asterisk -rx 'logger rotate'
Does it clear the file and create a new one? Can I run this manually without any interruption in the system?
And what does the script do? I

rsync as a bakcup tool and the case of rotated logs
Hello,
I use rsync (among many other things) as an incremental backup tool.
Every night I save /{home,etc,var} from several servers. On one of them
we keep 52 weeks of system logs, so each time syslog is rotated all old
syslog.x.gz (where x is between 1 and 213) change names. This impacts
our backup transfers because the incremental snapshot now has to include
all syslog.x.gz files even though

a fix for rotated PDF graphs
Hi,
I have found references for the following problem in the list
archives, but no nice solution. So I decided to post one I came up
with.
The problem is that graphs output as eps files, for example using
ps.options(onefile=FALSE, paper="special", width=8, height=8,
horizontal=FALSE, pointsize=12)
get rotated when I convert them to pdf using epstopdf. Both ghostview

asterisk queue cluster
I setup two asterisk servers with identical settings
(same extensions, same queues, etc). Each one is
connected to the same amount of incoming/outgoing
links (1 PRI, 4 BRI, 1 IAX friend, etc, on each box).
Most extensions are sip and they register via DNS SRV
and other methods so that the two servers are load
balanced. Incoming PSTN calls (BRI) reach 50% each
server so that's load balanced

Logger rotate & master.csv
Hi guys,
I have noticed that 'logger rotate' command only rotates log files in
the /var/log/asterisk directory, but not in the subdirectories. How
could I rotate my /var/log/asterisk/cdr-custom/Master.csv log file?
Regards,
Alex
