Credit card processing through Australian gateways (eway etc)
Hi there Has anyone out there embarked on credit card processing in a Rails app through Australian gateways such as eway? I''m aware of Payment and ActiveMerchant, but neither support Australian gateways. It''s a little beyond me right now to hack these to work with eway. Any clues would be appreciated here. Australian Internet Filtering Position
List, With sites like this appearing everywhere: http://www.dontfilterme.com and http://nocleanfeed.com/ Just trying to get a general opinion with what everyone thinks of the filtering situation in Australia. Whether you believe its a good thing or a bad thing or you don't really care. I'm writing a letter to an Australian MP (Member of Parliament) and I want to get some actual opinions

fImport data from Australian stock exchange
Dear all, I have been importing data into R from yahoo using yahooSeries, however the older version I was using no longer works with the syntax I have developed. I downloaded the latest package and it downloads data from the U.S. just fine, but the ticker codes for the Australian stock exchange (asx) do not get downloaded. a simple example, this works (US stock): stock<-yahooSeries(symbols =

Australian NBN network announced
First posted at: http://deancollinsblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/australian-nbn-network.html You ripper, http://www.crn.com.au/News/100466,government-announces-nbn-plans.aspx This is exactly how fiber should be - a shared wholesale resource just like water to ensure retail channels can deliver value add in content and services; - Not 'outspending on infrastructure'

Australian CRAN mirror
One of the CRAN mirror links for Australia is not correct, and I'm wondering how to have it updated. The incorrect address is http://cran.mirror.aarnet.edu.au/ and the correct one is http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/CRAN/. Regards, Andrew C. Administrivia: Australian co-lo space wanted
Hi, I would like to find a home for a public anoncvs, cvsweb and snapshot repository for Portable OpenSSH in a decent datacenter. Can anyone recommend (off-list) good and affordable co-lo facilities in Australia, preferably Melbourne? The facilities needed are a couple of RU and Internet connectivity. IPv6 access is a strong plus, as is access to multiple carriers. If an ISP or data centre

Coles OnLine under Wine? (Australian retailer)
Has anyone had any sucess with the Coles OnLine tool under Wine? I got the installer to run without any pain, but the main thing doesn't seem to want to go. I'm actually having trouble just knowing what to run. I've found the only installed .exe, which seems to be something called WinSurfer, but it barfs and puts up an empty dialogue box :( I can supply the output with various flags

Australian STD "pips" & Telstra pstn
Hi folks, just a quick update.... we managed to solve our problem by getting telstra to turn of the STD pips on outbound calls. We don't the effect yet on inbound (but we haven't had problems in the past) as most of our lines with x100p's are generally only used for outboung. Gary .

Australian Caller ID with Sipura SPA-3000
Hi All, I am using a Sipura SPA-3000 as an FXO gateway to bring calls in and out of Asterisk. I am using "PSTN Ring Thru Line 1" (on the "PSTN Line" tab) so Asterisk answers the call rather than the SPA-3000. It is all working perfectly except I can't get the SPA-3000 to pass caller ID to Asterisk. It passes "Display Name", "User ID" and any "PSTN

Australian approved 4BRI PCI adapter preliminary testing results
I have successfully placed a call into and out of the card from Asterisk using vISDN. The current vISDN snapshot now contains the PCI id's for the card so no patching should be required. Most of the initial testing failure was due to misconfiguration of vISDN by me and a bad entry in my sip.conf resulting in one way audio. So I have established that at least 1 channel of 1 port works in TE

Australian Options
I would just like to get a refresh of the situation for Australian users. It would seem that the TE400P is currently available and is likely to acheive approval for use in Australia within the next 2 months ? (when is the end of summer?). Once this is done, it will certainly suit larger installations, but it still leaves a number of 'gaps'. Anyone with analog phone lines will need

Drawing Maps of detailed Australian regions
Hi all, I'm trying to draw a bubble plot over a map -- where the map shows local government areas (LGA) in Australia (or other structures under the Australian Standard Geographical Classification), but am not sure where I can find the data to plot such maps (e.g. draw the state of Northern Territory but also showing LGA divisions). Any help will be greatly appreciated, apologies if this is

For the Australian Asterisk users
I've noticed that a few people here are from Australia. I'm wondering where you all get your hardware from. I'll probably order some of the X100P cards from Digium soon (and possibly some FXO cards), but for other things such as ATAs, etc. However - these obviously aren't ACA compliant. Does anybody know of compatible hardware (for POTS lines) that is ACA compliant? The cheapest
