Linux World Expo 2004 in SF
The cAos Foundation and hosted projects have been granted a booth in the Dot
Org Pavilion of Linux World Expo in SF this August.
If you are a developer or contributor of the project and would like to help
staff the both, please send me a private email so we can coordinate.
I don't have the actual numbers of Exhibitor badges that we can get yet, but I
would assume it is not many. This means

CentOS 3.1 update2 packages released
The CentOS 3.1 update2 packages have now been released.
They are available on mirror.centos.org and should be on all mirrors
within a few hours.
To update just run 'yum update'
Please bugzilla any problems.
There was a problem with the pam build in testing not being linked
against the laus library, so the released version is a .c0 so that anyone
who has installed the testing version

CentOS-3.1 update2
Unless anyone shouts I intend to push all the update2/testing stuff into
updates for 3.1 later on today - say about 22:00 UTC All the security
related updates have already been released.
I am not convinced that lack of feedback means that there are no problems,
more likely it means that not many people have tested the stuff, but I
have had no serious problems and cant do any more testing.

Wiki deuglification, last (at the moment) part
Hey,
one last change maybe - with the 3% padding on top and bottom, we really
lose screen estate at the top.
How does it look to you without any padding at top/bottom (leaving a
10px white line there)? That's what's live on wiki-m.centos.org at the
moment.
Or, if all of you want to have some more space above there (and the
background pattern) go with 1% padding?
1% padding means that

New CentOS contrib packages and 3rd party repos
A number of new packages are now in the contrib repository including
cluster manager, courier-imap, maildrop and piranha - amongst others -
thanks to bilbo for these. (we are still waiting for some of the
src.rpms)
There are also kernels for i586 in the contrib section.
contrib packages are supplied by third parties, not (necessarily) tested
by CentOS developers and not GPG signed by Centos.

Re: CentOS 3.4 Single CD "Server" version
Hey,
Lance mentioned yum group install. This yum group
capability makes the "server" CD's more versatile than
the name implies -- you only need a broadband
connection to get any kind of CentOS install you want.
Start with a minimal install off the CD, and then use
the yum group install to conveniently get the same
install you could get off the 3 CD set (only more up
to date).

I have tried your rsync 2.5.7 in cygwin under Windows 2000, synchronising to a
windows share on an unknown (probably Windows) file server.
Sorry to report that it hangs at the end of transfer, as did

Window position in managed mode
When starting, for example, FreeCell in managed more, the program opens with
the top of the window out of the top of my screen (i.e. the top corner of my
desktop coincides with the top-left of the menu bar). It's not a huge
problem, but I can't move the program...

Send in your favorite CentOS slogan today
Hi everyone,
The CentOS project is looking for more slogans that may end up on
promotional material (eg media, flyers, posters or stickers). We already
collected a few funny, ironic, sarcastic or even distasteful ones.
Feel free to visit our Slogans wiki page for a good laugh or rude
offenses and add your own slogan by sending them to this thread.
