help needed for RInside with Qt
Hello,
I am developing an application using Qt framework and C++. I want to use R
as statistics engine of my application. After doing some search on
internet; I came to the conclusion that RCPP, MPI with RInside is what I
need. The next logical task was to quickly tryout "qtdensity" project of
RInside, for understanding the build and other settings. I hit some
roadblock here and got

[LLVMdev] Gold plugin and LLVM tools documentation
Hi,
I've been following the instructions on how to use the LLVM Gold
plugin at http://llvm.org/docs/GoldPlugin.html while building an
multiple versions of WebKit. The documentation hasn't been updated
since 2010 and hasn't really matched my experiences, so I'd like to
ask if I'm doing these steps incorrectly. What I'm trying to do is

Note that you shouldn't need to pass --plugin to ar, it searches bfd-plugins.

help needed for RInside with Qt
Is this application meant to be commercial? If so, R's open source
license probably would forbid you to use it. I defer to those with
real legal knowledge on this point, but you should check it. If it is
not meant to be commercial, then ignore -- I have nothing useful to
offer you.
Cheers,

If you adhere to the terms of the license for R you should be okay legally. If you use contributed packages they may have additional requirements. However, these terms are often overlooked by programmers targeting Windows, hence Bert's caution.
As to the content of the original post itself, it is off-topic for this list... it belongs in R-devel (but you may need to study the Posting Guide

I think TrollTech deserves a prize for their accomplishment in making
qmake even worse than autotools (I'm using it for something else and
wish I wasn't -- Qt itself is fine though). I've heard good things about

Setting up paths etc. for Qt 4 development
Hi,
I was just wondering, is there a "correct" or "preferred" way of setting
up the path and other environment variables for Qt 4 development/build
using qmake and all - on a CentOS 6 system?
I mean, this does not work out-of-the box, at least if you have build
files that assume "qmake" may be executed just like that - as there is
no Qt 4 qmake on the path,

permissions, kernel-2.6.8, and wine-20040813
Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded to kernel 2.6.8 on my Fedora Core 2 system. This
caused a problem with the version of wine I'd been using (20040505),
so I upgraded wine to the current version (20040813).
The remaining problem is as follows:
I'm calling wine like this:
wine start.exe vcbuild.bat
and vcbuild.bat contains the following:
set QMAKESPEC=win32-msvc.net

[LLVMdev] Building Qt with LLVM
Hello, Everyone.
Just few notes for everyone, who wants to build Qt with llvm.
Everything was tested with shiny-new Qt 4.2.2 (X11 version) and
llvm-gcc4 & LLVM from head. Instructions written here should also work
on 1.9 release, as I've tested Qt build last time just before 1.9
release.
1. Specs
Qt uses it's own configuration and build system called "qmake". We

[LLVMdev] Trying to run qt app compiled to bit code Assertion failed: (Ty->isSized() && "Cannot getTypeInfo() on a type that is unsized!")
Looks like a bug in the DebugIR pass. I imagine that without the -debug–ir flag, you will be able to get a little further.
Nonetheless, can you send me the "bitcodetestqtapp" that you're running, or steps to reproduce? I'd love to take a look.
Thanks,
Dan

CentOS 6/EPel: Missing EPel package?
The EPel repo has a *nearly* complete collection of QT5 packages. One
important one that *seems* to be missing: qmake.
There does not seem to be a package containing qmake in the collection of QT5
packages for CentOS 6!
I guess I can find the source code and build it (somehow)...

more about: migration center
John,
I did not hear back from you right away. Maybe doing
all the combinations is too big a job for one person.
It might work if we split them up.
I could do these two:
RedHat 9 -> reinstall CentOS-3.1
RedHat 9 -> live update to CentOS-3.1
I am volunteering for these because I already have
RedHat 9 and CentOS-3.1 CD's.
The only rub is on Saturday I go on vacation, and at
