Fax over SIP Problems (sorry for this topic ...)
Hello everyone!
I tried to send a fax over SIP with an Asterisk Server in the middle (no
Digium Cards, etc. installed, everything is SIP only, the PSTN-Gateway
is external). Whenever I start sending a Fax to a PSTN destination, the
Call gets answered and asterisk tries to build a native bridging:

Hello,
We have updated the Wiki page for Polycom phones:
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Polycom+Phones
We posted several configuration specs as well as a link to an admin guide
for the phone.
We also posted a link on there to two firmware versions for download.
The official Asterisk-Polycom support website should be up and live sometime

"Unable to find path from G729A to ULAW" on Sipphone.com
I seem to be having a problem with transcoding and/or agreeing on a
valid codec. I am running a new image pulled from CVS at 1:30 PM CST.
The issue occurs when I try to make a call to a toll-free number over
sipphone.com.
Here's what I see in the console:

Codecs? - Asked to transmit frame type 256, while native formats is 8 (read/write = 8/8)
Hi everyone,
I have an issue which is kind of a catch 22 situation. I had outgoing
calls to my new PSTN provider working perfectly. Then I started
focussing on incoming calls. It seems that I can solve an error which
gets my incoming calls working but that in turns means my outgoing calls
don't work. - Strange.
Anyhow I was getting an error:
Process_sdp: No compatible codecs!

G729 troubles
Hello,
I've successfully installed Asterisk from last CVS and configured it
for using with DLINK-DG104S as mgcp CPE and PGW2200 as external sip
server.
All are work fine at G711 codecs, but then I disable all codecs except
g729 some calls failed (Not all calls. Some calls passed at g729
succesfully).
All my devices configred to use only g729 and I don't see other codecs
at mgcp or sip

Anyone seen something like below(see below the line)?

For many months now I went through * 1.07, 1.09 and never
saw something like that. Even with 1.2.0, a month now,
at the beginning everything was fine, and suddenly

app_echo.c
hi, all
I have test echo application for just fun.
I can'nt understand why this is used below in .c file,
format = ast_best_codec(chan->nativeformats);
ast_set_write_format(chan, format);
ast_set_read_format(chan, format);
without this this application work fine.

1.4.0 spews garbage on CLI, crashes
Hi, I just installed asterisk 1.4.0 on my mac. I compiled from source
with no issues. I installed the sample config files, and basically
just added a register line to sip.conf (to register with a Free World
Dialup account).
Then I called my asterisk system from a different computer (using
x-lite softphone on windows xp, registered to an ekiga.net account).
Asterisk answers, and I can hear the

I've the following installation :

the other server only allows 729 since it has low bandwidth at disposal
all the numbers but a few are routed to a digium card in the first
server, the others are routed to the other server, this

here what i have:

Eicon Diva 4BRI Card to a PBX. Asterisk is running in version 1.0.0 on
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3AS with kernel 2.4.21-4.EL.

G729
I have come to realize that I don't have to have a g729a license in
order to make use of an ATA-186 or 7460 connecting to another 7460. I
just need to allow the codec in sip.conf.
Now what ramification does that have when I dial out over one of my
analog line (connected to * by a channelbank and a T100P) using my 7460
or ATA-186. The only benefit I am looking for is reduced bandwidth

Problem -ATA-711-723-Oh323-Asterisk
Hi List,
I am facing the reverse problem as stated here.I am
using ATA 186 to make
and recieve call to * through OH323 driver.
When I use G711 codec in the ATA to make call then
then as soon as i dial an
extension the * crashes with 'segmentation fault'.
But the same scenerio works fine when i use 723 codec
in the ATA .I can dial
the number and extension very well/(I have 723 support
