unsigned and signed ?
In an earlier post I made about learning how to use speex someone nicely responded to me with a Speex Wrapper they had written.. however I am having an issue now where all I seem to hear is a ticking noise after encoding and decoding with speex. It is definitely getting proper data, as if I hit the mic somewhat I hear some extra crackling noises. Now, my code was nearly the same... but...

Background command noanswer option
Hello List, I am an Asterisk newbie, and I got a question about Asterisk Background command's option "noanswer": What is required from the user agent, such as a SIP phone, to be able to hear the playback without Answer()? I'm asking this because when I used X-Lite, I could hear the the audio file but when I used a hardware phone (an ATA in fact) I couldn't hear it. The

Before I explain my issue, let me apoligize for being extremely newbie :( Here's the situation: I am using the ARMV4 release build from the speex website. Right now I am simply trying to make an encode function using speex that will take an unsigned char* of raw wav data (8000 samples, 8 bits / sample, mono)

Some questions regarding CEntos
Hello list. I am assigned the task to select a RHEL3 clone operating system for a couple of servers. So far I have found Whitehat Linux, Tao, Scientific Linux and Centos. I like the community developed aspect advantage of Centos compared to the other distros where one or couple people maintain the operating system. - Is this a long term goal project? How does it sustain itself? How much

It skips the problematic mkstemp() call. It also passed the largefiles test that I sent

Hi, I''m a newbie to Xen and I need some help. I saw user ''datto'' had a similar problem but changed to FC4 to resolve it. I''m currently running FC3 and Xen2.0.7. I did the usual ''make install'' and I can boot into Xen dom0. However, my network card is not working. The driver is found in the linux-2.6.11.12-xen0 tree but not selected. I

Router, Firewall, SIP Rewriter, and GnuGK
Hi I am running firewall/router "brew" made of RedHat, Shorewall, Siproxd and GnuGK on a box that connects through PPPoE to Internet. I run Asterisk on another box behind of it and it seem to work fine for me. I am thinking of replacing the router box because hardware is getting flaky. I do not want to go through pain of assembling all this stuff together again. Does anybody know of

CentOS newbie just saying hello
Hi folks, Just a quick hello having installed CentOS on my first box - an Acer Altos G310 (P4 2.8GHz, 768MB RAM with 70GB + 300GB storage. The 300GB unit is a SATA disk which I hope to software (hardware!?) mirror - if I'm in for any major fun mirroring a SATA drive do let me know now - I think hardware mirroring is not an option (yet!?) but I haven't checked this out completely. Samba on Fedora 3 with Active Directory
Hi, I am trying to set up my test lab with a Windows 2000 Server PDC and a Fedora 3 machine running Samba. I am new to Linux but have gotten quite far searching how to's and other peoples posts, however, I have hit a wall. I have joined the Fedora machine to the domain, and I can see and access my Samba shares from Windows when I comment out the "valid users" line in the

Well I finally managed to get speex working :) Vinod I appreciate the wrapper code a lot, I found I couldn't get yours to work with the float conversion, but I changed to speex_encode_int instead and just passed in the shorts, and it worked perfect :) I am quite impressed with the quality, it sounds about the same as my PCM data.. however.. The mic on my ppc picks up EVERYTHING in the

Windows Drivers for Wildcard FXO Card
And if you want to use it with windows telephony software, such as answering machine or modem communications software, you can probably take the drivers for the Intel MD3200 based modem, modify the .inf for the Digium vendor and device ID. I have not tried this, but since the MD3200 modem works that way in Linux, the X100P may work that way in Windows. Then you would have a $100 winmodem! Let

OpenLdap and Apache Questions
Hello, Darren: I read your post on the newsgroup: <http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2003-September/073808.html> I read your post when I was having trouble configuring my apache server to work with ldap. After reading your post, I installed the openldap library on my solaris 8 machine. I have a question, when you install the library, and configure the apache server with the following

xml output from * ?
Hi Yawl, I took delivery this morning of a used BetaBrite LED display sign which I promptly set about playing with. Having found a windows app that grabs XML headline files from places like Slashdot and CNN as well as stocks etc I had an idea. What if I could get it to display stats from *? Things like call volume, queue stats, message waiting info. Now I'd be looking for someone to write

Issues/thoughts re CentOS-4
This is a list of issues for discussion for CentOS-4. Most of it is based on my experience from building/maintaining CentOS-2 and observing CentOS-3. I have not seen the CentOS-4 beta yet so I don't know if any of this is already done. If these have been discussed on IRC then perhaps someone could produce a shot summary of the outcomes....? * Just call it CentOS-4 not 4.1 etc. Too

SetCallerPres command gone
The AGI debug command worked well, and I found the offending command: SetCallerPres(allowed) That worked in Asterisk 13, but from my google searching it looks like this command has disappeared in Asterisk 20 (actually everything after ver 13). I thought it was replaced with CALLERPRES(allowed) but this generated an error too in Asterisk 20. Is there a replacement command? -----Original
