rebuilding errata src rpms
I am running centos-3 and have a question about
rebuilding errata srpms from redhat.
Do all i have to do is run
rpmbuild --rebuild filename.src.rpm
to rebuild the rpm for use on my centos system?
I am talking about the src.rpms that dont have a
a filename change for example the rpm file name
change for kernels, etc that add c0 to the rpm filename
I am assuming that if the src.rpm filename

The new CentOS3.4 version
Im glancing through my email from the mailing list and
noticed a lot of talk about centos3.4. When will it be
released officially. I have read somewhere that RH is
releasing RHEL 4 pretty soon....Im in no need to upgrade
because my system is rather stable..just trying to get
a idea of what is going on....I know i should be keeping
up with the list...but it gets complicated at times.

redhat-lsb
I've noticed that some systems don't have redhat-lsb or even
redhat-lsb-core installed and as a side effect, the ocsinventory agent
reports them as 'linux' instead of Centos with the release version.
Also, where it is installed and ocsinventory does pick up the name, it
doesn't include Centos (pre-7.x) in the 'all Linux' grouping because
the name is just CentOS and

SuperServer 6024H-82R and Centos 3.3
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any familiarity with this
server? It uses the Super X6DH8-G2 motherboard. Currently, we've added an
Adaptec 2120S Ultra320 RAID PCI Controller Card to get RAID 5 capability. The
installation bombs and from what I can tell it looks like we're getting SCSI
resets or the controller is going offline maybe. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.

software Raid1 on centos3
how is the stability of software raid1 on a system running centos3.
i have 2 75gig hard drives that i would like to mirror if possible,
that being the reliability is worth it...there will be lots of network
traffic on the server. It will be used possibly as a file server,
it will most definitely be used also as a mail server and webserver.
i would be ok to me to not mirror the drives but this is

Have question about centOS-3.3
I am currently running centOS-3.1.
I have not received any package updates since Sept 1.
Is this in part due to creating new isos which would be named centOS-3.3.
How would I go about updating my system from centOS-3.1 to centOS-3.3,
or would I even need to and just keep downloading updates like i do now.
My system is running very smoothly with no errors or issues,
I was just wondering why

Getting Spam Assassin and Amavis working
Okay, y'all know that I've been working on a script to auto-setup an email
server. (updated script at:
http://www.benjamin.weiss.name/mail-server.sh )
I've been trying to get Spam Assassin to work correctly with amavisd and
razor. To test, I've taken email from my current email server that has a
score of 9 or more and tried emailing it to the new server, but it doesn't

GRUB bootloader
I have raid'd a copy of my system for backup purposes to another hard drive,
not deleting the MBR. When I boot with GRUB (Centos 3.3) it now lists
multiple instances to boot, but in fact there is only one complete system.
Is there a way to delete additional instances from the GRUB bootup screen?
Thanks, Beth

is CentOS an LSB certified product?
Hi all,
Would anyone know if CentOS 4 and 5 is LSB certified?
I have not found any info on RH being LSB certified either. Is RH also
LSB certified?
In case you need to know, I am compiling a list of LSB certified Linux
just for comparison as to who would want to be LSB certified. Just to
see if it matters to ppl if it matters to be certified.

LSB Certification
Hey All,
Could someone provide a URL to a page that states what LSB level
RHEL/CentOS 6.4 is certified to.
I'm looking to download a driver:
http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Epson/Epson-WorkForce_1100
They offer a driver for LSB 3.1 or LSB 3.2. I'm hoping that one of
those applies to CentOS 6.4.

facter lsb* on Fedora
I just realized that if you don''t have redhat-lsb on your (Fedora 7)
box, all those lsb* facts don''t show up. Should I make redhat-lsb a
requirement for the facter rpm to guard against that ?
