ext3 bug?
Hi,
I have a severe filesystem crash on a machine with a single ext3 filesystem.
It is the second time that this happens to me (on two different machines that
are identical in hardware setup and mostly in software - I cloned them when
I started to work).
It looks like the journal (or something else, i am not an expert here) has
gone wild and overwritten loads of inodes. I have a single filesys

ext2 vs. ext3
Hi,
I just tested ext2 and ext3(2.4-0.9.6) with 2.4.8-ac8, using
bonnie++-1.01. The hardware is an old Pentium 100 box with 48M RAM and a
16.6MB/s EIDE harddrive. The test results(see attachment) show ext3 is a
lot slower than ext2 in most aspects. Does anybody get better results?

e2fsck: bad magic number in super-block
Hi,
I'm on kernel 2.14.13-ac8 running Redhat 7.1. I've
successfully converted all my file system to ext3 and
is working fine for a couple of weeks. However, I did
a silly thing when I e2fsck (version 1.23) an ext3
/home partiction without umounting it. Now, I believe
my partiton super-block is corrupted and the system
wasn't able to mount /home. I tried as suggested to do
a e2fsck -b
