Using a composite device under Centos 4.8 - no mouse clicks
I recently got an EEEbox. This is an Atom based nettop. It came with
a wireless keyboard/mouse which talk to a 2.4Ghz USB adapter (a Chicony
device as it turns out).
Now if I plug this adapter into a Centos 4.8 machine both the keyboard
and mouse are detected... but mouse clicks aren't. I can move the mouse,
the scroll wheel works, but buttons 1/2/3 aren't detected. Neither in X

4.3.11-Ubuntu fail to add DC to a AD domain
Hi!
I want to get down to the root cause of the issue I am having with my new
DC in my domain. I have followed some tutorials on the internet and
basically do not get the results.
I have 1 old DC, that is providing the AD domain for the whole local
network. I wanted to add another one. Both are Ubuntus 16.04, fully
updated.
I have followed this

Re: IPMASQ and lock-up of all terminals ---- Sum mary and update
Well, last night, my box was hit again.. same symptoms:
All attempts to connect remotely receive a connection, but a login prompt
never comes up.
When I went to the console and turned on the monitor, I had the login
prompt, but written on to the screen was the message
IPMASQ: Reverse ICMP: Checksum error from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
So, on this occasion, I thought I would post a summary of the

simlinks and options
Greetings.
I wrote a script that make remote backups with rsync. I have 2 main
problems with it
1) I want that the destination directory (on the repository machine)
recreate the backed up file path and it permission (I use -R here )
2) Is there a way to "follow" all the links using -R and -a parameters..??
Currently I am using something like this.
rsync -al --delete

GPO permissions
Hi all,
Just another GPO Permissions question.
I'm trying to track down why some GPOs are essentially invisible to the
clients, even though they exist in GPM and the files exist. So, they
aren't being applied or denied. What's the current wisdom on GPO ownership?
In GPM, the applicable object is "owned" by Domain Admins, but the

Mouse Cursor drifts in some directx games
Hello,
I am currently attempting to run some windows games through wine, specifically Fable - The Lost Chapters and The Elder Scrolls III - Morrowind and I am experiencing problems with my cursor drifting during game play.
When I start the game (as soon as the menu screen) the mouse is initially stable, but after I move the mouse it will begin to drift vertically down at a constant speed

Loosing mouse pointer on centos 4.1
I have a dell inspiron 8200 laptop . Install went fine.
After booting and using my laptop for a while my mouse pointer
just disappears.
Any ideas?
Any way to restart my mouse pointer?
I tried doing CTL-ALT+F1
and ALT_F7 thinking that would reinitialize the mouse but no.
Only thing that works is reboot.
THanks,
Jerry

kerberos got crazy after ubuntu upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04
I did stop it. And everything went back to life.
I wonder why it did work this way on 14.04... 37 years on the clock and
life still surprises me :)
Thanks guys, issue looks solved.
If anyone's in Warsaw/PL, beer's on me.

4.3.11-Ubuntu fail to add DC to a AD domain
Rowland, thank you for answering!
I have investigated this a bit, and I think that using 18.04 for the new DC
will not be successful anyway. Reasons: the AD I have has been created back
in the days when 14.04 LTS was fresh. The provisioning scripts worked
differently. 14.04 has been upgraded to 16.04, and I think that I do not
have all of the DNSes configured properly and this might be the cause

Restarting mouse services
I move my notebook around my office. Sometimes I am using the internal
pointers, sometimes a USB mouse, and sometimes a USB keyboard/mouse
adapter that is plugged into a kvm (actually two of them).
With one of these USB k/m adapters, when I plug in, the system fails to
recognize the mouse (but no problem with the keyboard). The 2 adapters
are the same brand/model (Aten), but the KVMs are
