Beware of DIDX & Super Technologies
I assume most people here know what a joke DIDX is -- but in case you
didn't already know, please avoid these people.
Basic features of their service don't work, their tech support
refuses/drags their feet to fix them for a month and if you post
publicly about them, they terminate your service.
Instead of investing their effort in reading mailinglists to terminate
customers maybe they

[asterisk-biz] DIDX Receives Digium Innovation Award
All of the emails I get from the list have the correct time with the
exception of the typical list slowness.
All of your emails (and only your emails and spam) are approximately 11
or twelve hours in the future. The email I am responding to has the
correct day but the time reads 11:13 PM.
I am using Thunderbird 2.0.0.5. If using Outlook, I think the time is
correct.
Thanks,

DIDx
Hey anyone know once you've bought a DID from DIDx
under the Purchased DIDs tab you can click a link for
one of your numbers that says '0 (SIP)'
and when you click that like there's SIP and a space
or the URL and AIX and a space for the URL....
What do I put here?
How do I setup Asterisk to accept these

IAX2 insists on not using port 4569??
For some reason, starting just today, 1 out 3 of my asterisk servers is
having issues calling 1 other server. The only issue I see is that when
it registers with the problem server it is using port 1027, not 4569.
ie:
Registered to 'Server 1', who sees us as 'Server 2':1027
Server 1 then proceeds to timeout trying to register with Server 2.
The way I have each server registering

DID Provider
I am using DIDx.net as my DID provider but they don't seem to get their act together. A lot of times the phone numbers don't work. How can provide my own DID, my asterisk server is being hosted at a Data center and has a reliable vendor that does my termination and do SIP to SIP and have no T1 channels.

IAX & FWD, No authority found?
Hi Folks,
Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers, I'm configuring Asterisk to talk to FWD's new IAX service. The asterisk server is behind an iptables NAT Firewall, with port 5036 forwarded:
$IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp -d $EXTERNAL_IP --dport 5036 -j DNAT --to-destination 172.16.20.200:5036
I can make outgoing calls just fine, but when I receive an inbound call

Hunting for DIDs in Kenya/Nigeria
Don't know if anyone's got experiences on this they'd be able to share...
I'm trying to obtain numbers for Kenya/Nigeria, but I'm struggling to find a
company selling them. There's one for Nigeria listed on didx.com, but
$22/month seems a little steep. Has anyone had any luck getting DIDs for
countries in Africa, and are there any companies out there selling them?
Thanks

IAX2 Auto-congesting call due to slow response
Hi all,
I am trying to connect to a softphone application using an Iax channel on
Asterisk 1.4.30. I can do outbound calls, from softphone to asterisk, but
not inbound from asterisk to softphone.
I get the following Debug:

iax2, strange native bridge problem????

i am really confused how nativ briging is working with asterisk,
i use a asterisk server as central server and register another asterisk and
an iaxcomm client to the server, all three have public ips on the internet.
somtimes, when i call from iaxcomm to my asterisk, the calls go peer to
peer (i can see it with tcpdump) but sometimes the get routed through the
central asterisk server

Excessive VNAK's and jitter over IAX2
Howdy,
I recently saw something strange with a call between *'s over IAX2.
There are actually 3 *'s involved. The setup is like this:
SIP phone ------(ulaw over LAN)------ *1 -------- IAX2 (ulaw over
Internet) ---------*2--------(GSM over Internet)
-----------*3--------(ulaw over LAN)------ SIP phone
Now what is shown below is the Asterisk in the middle, that is doing the

[PATCH] VT-d: make scope parsing code type safe
Rather than requiring the scopes to be the first members of their
respective structures (so that casts can be used to switch between the
different views), properly use types and container_of().

Missing folders inside huge folders catalog.
Hi,
I get into the problem with samba ( Version 4.8.3-Debian ). Don't know how to troubleshoot it.
The test scenario #1:
Creating 5000 folders inside Linux server: #for i in {001..5000}; do mkdir $i; done;
All catalogs are showing in Windows OS.
All catalogs are showing in Linux OS.
The test scenario #2:
Creating 10000 folders inside Linux server: #for i in {001..10000}; do mkdir $i;

Codec "Uknown" with IAX connection
I am having some problems getting TelIax service to work with *. Outbound
calls work just fine. When I try an inbound call the phone rings and there
is no audio. Upon further investigation "iax2 show channels" indicates
that the codec is "unknown" The provider confirmed that they are set for
ulaw and so am I. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing the codecs
