Soekris net4801 for home use?
I'm considering that board as a mail and voip gateway for home use. In view of all those statements about how little resources asterisk needs, did anybody already try running asterisk on it? Thanks, Bruno.

Soekris net4801 and IAXy dhcp issue
Hi all, I have a Soekris net4801-50 board with OpenBSD 3.9 where I've configured a dhcp server and tested it with a regular PC connected directly via a crossover cable with success. The problem comes when I try to connect my IAXy device instead of the PC. I can see with 'tcpdump -nettti sis1' that the IAXy isn't sending any packets to the dhcp server. I thought my IAXy was bad

boot Soekris 4801 with EXTLINUX
Hi. I am trying to use EXTLINUX 3.08 to boot a Soekris net4801 from a CompaqFlash card. BIOS reports the CF card as the first master harddisk. During boot/load the loader hangs after this output: EXTLINUX 3.08 2005-05-19 PXELINUX and LILO works fine on the same setup It this a general problem with Soekris/net4801 and EXTLINUX? OT: AstLinux 0.2.2 released
Hello Everyone, I have released AstLinux 0.2.2. There are way too many improvements to list here, but here is a short summary: Linux 2.4.27, iptables, mini_httpd (with PHP & SSL), phpconfig, AstShape traffic shaping, tftp server, OpenSSH, proftpd, Soekris Net4801 and Pentium-MMX and higher x86 support. There is actually WAY more software, but I couldn't possibly list it all. It

Pictures of the Digium booth at ISPCon 2005
Hello everyone, Even though a lot of it was a bit last minute, several of us from the commnunity made it to Baltimore to help Digium with their booth at ISPCon. It was a great time. Gregory Boehnlein, Brian Capouch, Christian Savinovich, Kristian Kielhofner (me), and John Todd (not pictured) were there (as well as others), and some pictures were taken (the up close ones of me were very

Is this a problem with pxelinux or a Soekris bios?
Hello, Recently I have discovered a problem with serial console output when net-booting a Soekris net5501 board via pxe. When using pxelinux.0 from syslinux 4.04 package I get only 15 characters from the output, then the carriage returns back to the same line over and over again, making it impossible to read the output. What is more the booting process (trying configuration files with

net5501 + TDM400P?
Hi, I'm relatively new to Asterisk, and I'm looking to build a tiny system for home use. For context, at home I've got a line from Vonage (last I heard, they won't give out SIP credentials and let you use random hardware/software), which comes out as an analog line with a dialtone, and I'll be treating that as if it were a regular PSTN connection. I also work from home,

Failover Device?
First, Something seems to be wrong with the list. I'm not the only person who has expressed seeing their messages either arrive late, or not at all. With that out of the way.. Is anyone aware of any type of failover device for PRI on asterisk? I've found the ISDNGuard, however it is currently not made in the U.S., nor does it run on U.S. power. Is anyone aware of a device that will

Soekris net4801 and analog interface?
Is anyone using a net4801 and an analog only setup? I am looking for a modem that is PCI 3.3V, apparently the X100P is 5.0V PCI only so it won't work with the net4801.

soekris hadware
Hi group, i'm brand new and i would like to ask about soekris hardware. I read along the web but i have some doubts that i think can be solved here. My question are the following: 1) does the Digium TDM400P fit in the soekris box with a 4801 SBC or a bigger box is needed? Any suggestions about where to pick up another box? 2) does the Digium TDM100P (already discontinued) fits fine in a

Asterisk on Soekris
I thought I saw a Soekris embedded in the Digium booth photos, can you run Asterisk on one of these? How? I'd be interested in it for a back pbx, given the reliability. In fact, might want to move my home pbx to this also. Chris Mason

Asterisk on IBM Netvista 2800 8364-EXX?
Hello I'm looking at my options to build a compact, silent, headless Asterisk server to handle one or two FXO ports. Out of curiosity, I got one of those babies on eBay for 20E: http://silicon-verl.de/home/flo/software/netstation-8364/ Before I spend time on this, can someone tell me if... 1. it's easy to install Linux on those things (am willing to add a CF-to-IDE adapter to use a

Digium TDM400P in Soekris net5501-70?
Hello - I've been running Asterisk (quite happily!) for several years now using a Digium TDM400P card in an old Linux box (P4 1.6 w/ 256MB RAM). I'm also running another old PC running m0n0wall as a firewall. Between these two boxes, that run 24x7, I'm drawing a lot more power than needed and hoping to make a dent in my monthly electric bill by consolidating the two into a single box

Asterisk on a Beagleboard?
Hello Out of curiosity, has someone managed to run Asterisk on a Beagleboard for home-use? www.beagleboard.org As an alternative to a PC, it can be powered from a USB hub, so that would make for a compact, fanless Asterisk server. Thank you.

Brainstorm: Running Asterisk as cool as possible - AKA solid state.
I would like to ask what people think the best way would be to build a low-power consumption, passively-cooled system. For example, one could use a fanless-Eden (mini-ITX/EPIA) system, but the loss of FPU power would limit performance. The obvious choice for FPU work are the Intels and AMDs, nut they're all power-hungry radiators. Is there something that can offer the quiet, power-savings of
