queueue recording and what to do next
Guys, if you define recording on queues.conf and also define a monitor_filename var on your dialplna, you can record a queue call but, isthere a way to do something with the file after the call ends? I need to move the file to some other place but I cant find where to define a command to run after a queue call finishes. Any hints?

Xen and networking.
I have a beefy machine (Intel dual-quad core, 16GB memory 2 x GigE) I have loaded RHEL5.1-xen on the hardware and have created two logical systems: 4 cpus, 7.5 GB memory 1 x Gige Following RHEL guidelines, I have it set up so that eth0->xenbr0 and eth1->xenbr1 Each of the two RHEL5.1 guests uses one of the interfaces and this is verified at the switch by seeing the unique MAC addresses.

Increasing throughput on xen bridges
Hi all, I have a rhel 5.1 xen server with two rhel 3 ES hvm guests installed. Both rhel3 guests use an internal xen bridge (xenbr1) which it isn''t binded to any physical interface host. On this bridge throughput it is very very poor, only 2.5 Mbs. How can I increase this throughput??? Many thanks. -- CL Martinez carlopmart {at} gmail {d0t} com

Help needed with NFS issue
I have four NFS servers running on Dell hardware (PE2900) under CentOS 5.7, x86_64. The number of NFS clients is about 170. A few days ago, one of the four, with no apparent changes, stopped responding to NFS requests for two minutes every half an hour (approx). Let's call this "the hang". It has been doing this for four days now. There are no log messages of any kind pertaining

Samba over slow connections
Hi list (and happy new year), I'm experiencing some troubles using Samba (4.1.17 debian version) over VPN. Basically we've following setup : PC === LAN ===> VPN (WAN) ==== LAN ===> Samba file Server Copying big (say > 1MiB) files from PC to Samba file server almost always ends up with a NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT error (or "a network error occured" if trying to copy from

UDP Perfomance tuning
Hi, We are running on 5.5 on a HP ProLiant DL360 G6. Kernel version is 2.6.18-194.17.1.el5 (we had also tested with the latest available kernel kernel-2.6.18-238.1.1.el5.x86_64) We running some performance tests using the "iperf" utility. We are seeing very bad and inconsistent performance on the UDP testing. The maximum we could get, was 440 Mbits/sec, and it varies from 250 to 440

Increasing NFS Performance
Greetings all- I have a CentOS 5 (Final) system that is serving up content to several other hosts via NFS. The amount of data transferred is rather small as most of the files are under 100kb and each export has maybe 100 files that are accessed regularly. I'm finding that as I add more hosts accessing the NFS server, the performance seems to be getting poorer. There are obvious delays when

Call recording and archiving
Does anyone have a good suggestion for a automated solution to record calls on certain interfaces and easily archiving them in a way which is easily matched against CDRs? Also can someone suggest the appropriate protocol to archive the recording when the conversations are transpiring in ulaw. Basically a nice cost effective trade off between CPU and disk space for medium call load. Thanks Miles

Call Recording Servers
We are looking at using Asterisk as a call recording server for an Avaya VoIP S8700 system in a multi-site VoIP Call Center. All calls will be coming in to one location and sent out via VoIP to other call centers. What kind of specs should we be looking at purchasing for our Asterisk server to be record up 200-300 calls simultaneously? Linux runs in 64 bit architecture, but does Asterisk

Puppet & Oracle Database config management
Afternoon all. I''ve been reading around on Puppet and Oracle, and have come up with a few links that suggest how to get Oracle installed and base configured, which has got me started in the right direction on that. My next challenge is maintaining Oracle database specific configuration on the relevant hosts. This contains various elements, such as /etc/oratab, /etc/oranfstab (as

Mixed dom0/domU usage?
Hi, I'm wondering about the impact of using both dom0 and domU's on a server at the same time. I'm worried about the performance impact of running a Mysql server in a domU and now I'm thinking about moving the Mysql part of a LAMP setup into dom0 and running a few Apache guests as domUs. Since the Apaches will serve mostly from an NFS share they won't have much impact on

Bandwidth optimisation
OS: CentOS 5.0 x86. Hi, I am using CentOS 5.0 at home, ADSL ~16 Mbps/~1 Mbps Internet connection and my ping time to my ISP is 160-170 msec. When downloading something with Firefox, I am getting download speeds of about 100-180 KB/sec (for example when downloading SP2 of XP from MS server). Are the CentOS networking settings OK for this kind of latency, or do I have to change some settings?

disable TCP slowstart ?
Im trying to improve my internal apache proxy. It has to deliver a lot of little/medium sized files. But every transfer starts with the usual small window size. While this is good for internet connections it is not as good for only internal connections where the environment is sane. I have tryed to tune initial window size via /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_congestion_control tryed already
